“We wanted country romantic vibes,” says Meg and Bob of their Geelong winery wedding. I think we can all agree they nailed the brief.
We are utterly smitten with Meg’s outfit – that Karen Willis Holmes gown paired with her Dohey & Goods hat. Swoon! And we have Mandy Wood to thank for documenting this delish day for us to see and share. “Mandy was calm, professional, and at one point even jumped under my dress to help tie the bustle – above and beyond,” Meg says. ” She’s so creative and understood the brief of not wanting staged photos. Book Mandy!”

THE VENUE “It was really important Bob’s Nan could made it to the ceremony so we wanted to be close to Geelong and had a large number of guests. We wanted country vibes and found Clyde Park. Neither of us had been before and it was the first venue we had seen. Immediately we fell in love with the venue and Terry and Sue who own it. We made the decision then and there and didn’t see any other venues.”
THE DRESS “My dress was from KWH Bridal. I was lucky enough to have Karen at my fitting to help pull the pieces together. I knew I wanted to wear a hat, I knew I wanted somewhat traditional with my own spin on it. I had a number of fittings booked for the day, my sister flew in from QLD and both my Mum Debbie and Bob’s Mum Julie came with me. I tried on a few at KWH waiting for my sister’s flight to land, waiting to try on the pieces I thought I knew. Pulling the look together they were all different capsule pieces, my sister arrived and we were ready to put it on. As soon as Karen added the belt and the sleeves, I knew this was me. All in tears there was no question. The team at KWH was unbelievable, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I said yes and immediately canceled all other bookings for the day.”
FAVE DETAILS “Our cake was the ‘something blue” and we loved that it wasn’t traditional. Sue from Clyde Park did a wonderful job and we loved the little hearts all over it.”
MEMORABLE MOMENT “The band created the most insane atmosphere and no denying the dance floor wasn’t a huge highlight, nobody sat down! Bobby and I snuck off at one point and had a glass of wine at the cellar door just the two of us, everyone was moving so fast and we wanted a moment to regroup and take in that we were just married – that was pretty special.”
LITTLE LOL “My poor mum ruptured her Achillies leading up to the wedding which resulted with her on a scooter. In her deference, on her way up to the speech she managed to scoot down the aisle with a champagne glass in one hand whilst waving like the queen.”
