When Natalie and Matt decided it was time to tie the knot they had been together for eight years, which was plenty of time for them to lock down a solid vibe for their big day. Keen for a Springtime soiree, the lovers settled on a delicious white, blush, gold and neutral palette complete with some of the most ethereal floral pillars we have seen to date. Chuck in some bridal wings, groomsmen suits by M.J Bale, tunes by Tobi Tobi and the cutest flower girls on planet earth and the result is one heck of a classic day. The king of elegant snapshots, Jimmy Raper Photography, was on hand to capture details. So, make haste and get scrolling…
THE VENUE “We always knew we’d have it in the Yarra Valley. Matt grew up in the area and took me on a date to Stones Of the Yarra Valley when we first started dating. I instantly fell in love with the decor and surroundings, as did he, and we knew as soon as we did our official tour after getting engaged that this was the venue for us!”
FAVOURITE DETAILS “Our flowers hands down would take the win. When I first met with Rita [Rita Feldmann Flowers] I couldn’t wait to work with her. She is so creative and talented and felt super comfortable that she could bring my mood board vision to life. Our flowers on the day were just incredible and really set the tone for the whole wedding. We had this absolutely stunning hanging centrepiece at our reception, above the middle dining table, with a cherry blossom explosion. We were absolutely blown away by how stunning and romantic she made all the arrangements look when we arrived into the barn.”
DIY “I am a graphic designer, so I designed my own invitations, food and beverage menus, seating arrangements and table numbers. I really wanted to play with different stocks and materials and knew I wanted gold to be the central theme throughout. With my invitations, I wanted something classic but that still tied in with our theme. I ended up choosing a white cotton paper stock with gold foil press, a printed blush pink with gold foil press and transparent vellum with gold foil press. I designed the whole suite within the first few months of locking down our wedding date. I got the invitations printed through Stitch Press and was super happy with how it all turned out.”
A TOUCH OF TRADITION “My background is Greek so to celebrate at the reception we had a few of my parent’s favourite greek songs. Everyone got so into it dancing around in circles. It was great fun!”
LITTLE LOL “When I threw the bouquet to “Single Ladies” by Beyoncé, of course. A friend of ours literally dived for it and landed on the ground! It’s like I watched it in slow-mo.She is now engaged!”
STANDOUT VENDORS “Jimmy Raper, our photographer, has been an absolute legend throughout the whole process. He went above and beyond making sure we felt at ease throughout the whole day and in the lead-up. He gave us all these recommendations and ideas when putting together our album and we had absolute trust in him so that was great!”
