REN & DREW, VIC
These clever kids tied the knot at the stunning Abbotsford Convent with Bursaria Catering in charge of all things food, no doubt including their gorgeous cake. Photographed by Sophie T Photography you can check out more of this gorgeous wedding (and that stunning three-tiered naked cake) here.
PENNY & MATT, QLD
This creative couple chose to go down the DIY route for their incredible cheese and fruit cake – prooving you don’t need to break the bank to have an incredible wedding cake – a trip to the cheese aisle at Woolies will do the trick! Photographed by one of our fave Queensland wedding photographers, Ephemeral Creative who also happened to make their incredible film, you can check out the whole shebang here.
RAYMI & CONEL, FIJI
These guys ran away to a mountaintop in Fiji to elope and left the entire planning (including the cake) to their photographers Kama Catch Me, who somewhat specialise in elopements of this kind. To check out more of the bride’s gorgeous gown, and some seriously stunning photos be sure to click here.
JEMMA & PIERS, VIC
Another couple who tied the knot at Melbourne fave Abbotsford Convent but this time they enlisted the amazing Miss Lady Bird Cakes to create this classic white beauty you see above you. We interviewed the gorgeous owner and baker Gina in our brand new issue 23 (on sale now and stocked in newsagents nationally). This gorgeous wedding was photographed by She Takes Pictures He Makes Films – a destination wedding photographer and cinematographer duo who are based in Victoria but travel all over Australia and the world shooting couples in love. Check out this epic Byron Bay wedding they shot. It’s one of our all-time favourites.
GEORGIA & ALBERTO, NSW
This northern New South Wales wedding had it all but we’re especially loving on their naked sponge cake by caterers Mavis’s Kitchen. This wedding was photographed by the talented Miriam Ackroyd from Life Is Beautiful Photography and you can check out the whole shebang, including their beautiful wedding film, here.
GEORGINA & DAVID, VIC
And because she’s one of Melbourne’s most loved and in demand bakers, Miss Lady Bird Cakes was, of course, the go-to for Georgina and Davids special day too. This wedding was photographed by one of our fave Victorian wedding photographers, Alex Motta of Motta Weddings fame. You can check out more of his wedding work here.
LEANNE & BEN, VIC
The bride’s sister in law, Kylie, created this stunning gluten-free carrot and walnut cake for their quiet country elopement and her sister Nicole decorated it with lavender and rosemary plucked from the garden at Ellis House in Kyneton. This gorgeous day was photographed by Perth photographer Alexandra Cohen. Alex photographed the cover of issue 22 which you can still pick up via our online store here. And you can see more of her amazing photographic work here.
ALEX & GENE, ACT
Canberra based faves Forty Two Cakes are the total legends responsible for this semi-naked, semi-traditional, but still a little bit quirky creation. This wedding was photographed by Willow and Co and features so many of our fave Aussie vendors. Be sure to click here to check out the whole shebang.
CHLOE & TOM, VIC
This gorgeous wedding already scored a mention in our Best of 2018: Bouquets feature and here they are again with their gorgeous cake. This stunning day was photographed by Motta Weddings. You can check out more of Motta’s wedded work here.
PHILLIPA AND WILL, VIC
Philly and Will are back at it again (they first cracked a mention with the best bridal parties of 2018) but this time it’s all about that epic cheesecake by catering company Blakes Feast. This wedding was photographed by Katie Harmsworth – one of Victorias very best lens ladies! You can check out more of her work here.
