Wondering how it feels to get married? Philly & Will reckon the first kiss as husband and wife at the ceremony takes the cake. “Sealing the deal with a kiss, with all our favourite people clapping and cheering is a pretty amazing feeling.” We don’t doubt it! Especially if your bride looks as stunning as Philly in that custom made One Day Bridal gown and you have a set up by Sperry Tents Australia, with Katie Harmsworth and Humdrum Films there to capture it all on camera. The bride adds, “one of my favourite quotes, one my dad actually said in his speech pretty much sums it up: ‘Maybe some women aren’t meant to be tamed. Maybe they need to run free until they find someone just as wild to run with.’ Not going to lie, it’s now one of our faves, too…

LITTLE LOL “My nephew Auggie absolutely loves Will and has become obsessed with all things farming to be just like him. As a result of this, Auggie got a ride on toy John Deere Gator for his birthday that he spends all day tearing around in. One day my sister Bec and I were joking around that we could get Auggie to drive the girls down in the John Deere Gator- jazzed up and covered in flowers. Auggie overheard, thought it was the greatest idea ever and there was no way we could talk him out of it. He drove my neices straight down the aisle perfectly, parked his Gator and took his place standing up the front next to his favourite farmer and new uncle, Will.”

THE VENUE “Langley Park is a very special family location. A little hobby farm that has been in the family for 40 years. My aunties, sister and brother have all been married there, so I have always known I wanted to get married there- plus, it’s beautiful!”

FAVOURITE DETAILS “The old ute filled with the most beautiful flowers, topped with a personalised neon sign was pretty fab. My invitations were incredible. My sister, who owns Peace, Love and Letterpress went above and beyond with these. A three-piece, letterpressed invite, in a printed floral wrap (she had scanned fresh flowers to achieve this look), in a clear envelope and sealed with a ‘Philly Willy’ logo wax seal stamp. The floral wrap also got used for the stubby holders and menus.”

THE DRESS “Where do I start with my dress?! It was designed by Kyha at One Day Bridal. I took a week off work and went to all the different bridal shops in Melbourne and Sydney with mixed results. One of the high-end ones in Sydney were actually quite horrible to me, as I didn’t fit the ‘skinny’ mould, so I was very put off with the whole experience. Until I met the super cool and talented Kyha. She got me from the moment I met her. She sketched a design of the dress right there and then and it was perfect. I loved the whole process with her. Getting a dress made from scratch is both super exciting and scary at the same time. Seeing all the stages come together is really exciting, but you also have to have full trust in the designer to make something you have never tried on before and hope it looks great. I am so glad I let Kyha do her thing- she completely understood everything I wanted and absolutely nailed the end result!”

A WORD OF ADVICE… “Trust all of your wedding suppliers. If they have a suggestion go with it. It’s their job, they do it for a living, so they know what is best. And don’t get sucked into planning a traditional wedding because you think you have to. If you want to wear a coloured dress, do it. It’s your day and you want it to reflect you as a couple.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “The dream team at Georgeous, Georgie and Claire, made all my crazy wedding ideas come true- and some. I cannot thank Kyha from One Day Bridal enough for making me- someone who has always had so many insecurities about my body- feel completely confident and beautiful walking down the aisle in front of 262 people! Ben at Duffs Jewellers was also amazing with my engagement ring and wedding band. I loved the whole process- picking up my ring was like all my Christmases had come at once! And Nick Rutherford from Rutherford Entertainment. What a legend! Chatting with him was just like chatting with a mate. He totally loved my ridiculous taste in music (everything from Miley Cyrus to Garth Brooks to the golden oldies) and he had it all covered. I knew I wanted the music to be a big part of the wedding and the line up from Rutherford Entertainment was next level.”
