The proposal David had in mind pulls all our heartstrings, as his bride to be Georgia tells us. “David proposed while we were having a picnic at the Luxembourg Gardens in Paris…he pulled a present out of the bag for me. I unwrapped it to find a box inside. When I opened the box it started playing a song that always plays during love scenes in the show Portlandia’. Inside the musical box was a 200 page hand-drawn flip book. The scene drawn in the flip book was us in Paris, throwing the ball to our dog. Instead of bringing the ball back in her mouth, she runs back with a box in her mouth instead. The last page of the flip book revealed a box with a ring enclosed within the book!”

The pair enjoyed a 16 month engagement, the bride telling us that it was the perfect amount of time, ensuring the couple were never stressed by the planning – especially thanks to the wonderful work of one such vendor! “Phoebe, the Event Manager at The George Ballroom made the planning process and the night itself quite relaxing. There was barely any stress involved in planning the night because I could trust that she had everything under control.”

Classic with a twist was the theme for Georgia and David’s Victoria wedding! ” Both Como House and The George Ballroom are historical venues so wanted to enhance their beauty but also contrast it with some fresh and modern touches, like the espresso martini cart and the neon sign.” The pair also opted for a Champagne Towers instead of the traditional first dance to kick off the dance floor shenanigans, said the bride who wore a stunning custom made Luci Di Bella gown. “Lucy completely understood what I was after and what shape would complement my figure…She’s a genius and it fit like a glove.”

In the lead up to their big day, the groom discovered the wedding band he’d ordered for his bride to be wouldn’t make it in time for the wedding. “It’s one of those funny now’ stories… David frantically ordered a back-up ring online and when it arrived it was huge. So the Thursday before the wedding I had to run around and find another ring that I could get resized before the day.”

When it came to funny moments, David’s father certainly took the cake, “the speech was more like a performance where he was going to reenact the wedding scene from the movie The Godfather – theme music, Italian accent and all!”
