A vibrant, unforgettable weekend in Tuscany (scratch that, Tasmania). Drawing on cherished memories from their favourite holiday, Vic and Dylan found the perfect setting in Hobart’s Villa Howden. “Finding a Tuscan-style villa in my hometown was a no brainer,” shares this stunning bride, who opted for a Kyha Studios gown and Dove Grey Bridal veil.

To make the magic happen, Vic and Dylan teamed up with planner/stylist Artaud & Co. They also brought aboard photographer David Muir and videographer/content creator Heart and Soul Content to capture their Euro-flavoured, Apple Isle celebration. Excellent picks all round.

Though their day was blissful and beautiful, Vic and Dylan’s journey to the aisle was not without its obstacles, and here, the two open up about how a health diagnosis received days out from the wedding impacted their experience. They also share words of wisdom for partners currently wedding planning, favourite details, and logistical choices that helped set the tone for a stunning weekend.

BRIDAL PARTY STYLE | BLACK TIE WEDDING

“One of our absolute favourite details was our bridal party. I loved how the girls all looked so incredible in different dresses, with varied hairstyles and unique flowers. While each of them had their own individual style, everything still came together in such a cohesive and beautiful way, it really highlighted their personalities and individual beauty, which I adored. Seeing everyone so thoughtfully styled and confident added so much to the overall atmosphere of the day. Also seeing our guests in black tie/full glam! Everybody looked incredible and it made our vibe what it was.”

The Emotional First Dance Moment Sparked by a Surprise Saxophonist

“One of my favourite moments was surprising Dylan with our saxophonist, Gus. It was a wedding gift for him, and when we stepped out for our first dance to find Gus playing our song live, it created such a powerful and emotional moment. Dylan’s reaction made the surprise absolutely worth it and is a memory we’ll always treasure.”

THE WEDDING DAY LEAD-UP

“Dylan had a health diagnosis just nine days before our wedding, which understandably made the lead-up an incredibly stressful time for us both. Our vendors were extraordinarily supportive, once they understood what we were navigating, they handled everything with care and discretion, never placing additional pressure on us. In many ways, the weekend became an important reprieve from what we were going through. It offered us a chance to be fully present, surrounded by our loved ones, and to step into a celebration that felt joyful and grounding. That sense of ease and support is a big part of why the atmosphere across the weekend felt so special.”

ADVICE FROM THE BRIDE AND GROOM

“Surround yourself with incredible vendors! Truly trusting each and every one of our vendors made the day effortless for us and we loved vibing with each of them!”

STAYING ON-SITE WITH THE BRIDAL PARTY | PRE-CEREMONY PORTRAITS

“We’re so glad we chose to have our closest friends stay with us in the villa. Waking up each morning, debriefing together, and starting the day surrounded by our favourite people added so much to the experience, it really set the tone for the entire weekend. We also loved having our photos done before the ceremony, as it meant we could fully enjoy cocktail hour and be present for every part of the celebration.”

STANDOUT HOBART WEDDING SUPPLIERS

Our photographer, without a doubt. David was exceptional; he made the entire day feel incredibly special. In the lead-up to the wedding, we developed a genuine connection with him, and by the day itself, he felt like part of our inner circle. We had worried that stepping away for photos might feel tiring or take us out of the moment, but each time we did, it felt like a welcome pause, relaxed, natural, and something we truly enjoyed thanks to David’s approach. And of course, our wedding planner Lisa from Artaud, her work is truly magic, and we couldn’t have achieved our vision without her.”
