On a sun-kissed summer day in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, Tess and Darcy got married. 109 loved ones, including their own trio of kiddos, came to cheer the couple on, gathering at Farm Vigano (a little taste of Italy overlooking Plenty Valley Gorge).

In a sea of special moments, the couple told us their first look stands out. The bride in Prea James with Amelie George earrings; the groom sporting Peter Jackson and a M.J. Bale bow tie. The memory was captured by photographer Georgia Verrells who was “an easy choice!” “We were so relaxed for our ceremony because of the first look and we got to spend special time with our kids all together before any other guests arrived!”

A damn darling of a day, rich in inspo – you know we’ve got all the vendor deets below (a line-up also featuring Hey Jack Entertainment and Off The Hook audio books). Plus, a bouquet-load of pics and reflections from the newlyweds – enjoy!

A SCENIC OUTDOOR WEDDING CEREMONY & ITALIAN RESTAURANT RECEPTION | MINIMALIST STYLING

“Our venue Farm Vigano is a beautiful Italian restaurant with gorgeous pops of yellow and green! It is already styled so beautifully – fun and romantic overlooking the Plenty Valley Gorge. Having three young children, minimising styling on my end was important to me being time poor. It ticked all the boxes! For our day, we wanted relaxed, fun vibes.. our day to day lives are busy and stressful. We were so lucky everything went so smoothly with the most beautiful weather.”

FAVOURITE MOMENTS | THE FIRST LOOK

“Our favourite moment was our first look, just the two of us together chatting and also then being with our kids. We also loved our speeches, our family and friends spoke so well and it was really nice to sit down and soak it all up!”

WEAVING IN FAMILY & WEDDING DAY TRADITIONS

“I wore a garter that was passed down from Darcy’s family, whom he’s sisters and aunty and cousin had all also worn. We had a candle burning on our wishing well beside a sign remembering loved ones lost too soon. Darcy wore a picture in his tux jacket which Tess organised, of his late uncle who passed when Darcy and Tess first met. He was a special person to Darcy so it was important he was right beside his heart on the day.”

THE COUPLE’S ADVICE & PLANNING A WEDDING WITH YOUNG KIDS IN TOW

“It would be much easier planning a wedding without young children, but it honestly made the day so much more special for us. We are so glad we waited and can share these memories as a family forever.”

A SWEET SURPRISE FOR THE GROOM & WEDDING DAY TUNES

“Before our aisle song, I had made a voice audio of the kids for Darcy before they walked down the aisle, it was a tear jerker and had Darcy in tears, again. I then walked down the aisle to Truly Madly Deeply performed and our first dance song was Simply the Best. We had a family friend teach us a simple dance which made us really comfortable, because we honestly had no clue where to start without some guidance!”

STANDOUT MELBOURNE WEDDING VENDORS

Georgia Verrels, our photographer, was beyond incredible, we will continue to spruik her to everyone, but we don’t need to because everyone is still going on about how great all the pictures are! I would choose Farm Vigano again, eating pizza and drinking cocktails was my type of wedding!”
