Georgia Verrells Photography

Choosing a wedding photographer isn’t just about hiring a professional it’s about finding someone who feels like an extension of your story. Someone who blends into your day like a guest you’ve known forever. That’s how I work: cozy, calm, unobtrusive, I’m there, but you’ll hardly notice me.

I capture weddings through warm, candid photography, a mix of digital and film and offer nostalgic Super 8 video, documenting not just how things looked, but how they felt. The laughter, the quiet in-between moments, the teary hugs, the wild dance floor, even the moments you didn’t see.

No stiff poses or awkward smiles here just genuine connection, real emotion, and storytelling that feels true to you.

Melbourne is home now, but I was born in London and raised in Sydney. Outside of weddings, you’ll find me in the kitchen, cooking up a storm, or soaking up time with my beautiful son both remind me to slow down and savour the everyday magic. Photography was my first love, and Super 8 added a whole new layer to how I see the world. I’ve always documented the joy in my own life, and now I get to do the same for others capturing their people, their places, their love.

My couples describe my work as glowing, honest, joyful, and full of feeling. And that’s exactly how I want your experience to be.

FAQ

Do you travel for weddings across Australia or internationally?

Absolutely.

I’m based in Melbourne but regularly photograph weddings throughout Victoria, interstate and overseas. Whether you’re getting married in the Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula, Sydney, Tasmania or planning a destination wedding, I’d love to hear about it.

Travel is quoted individually depending on the location.

What is included in your wedding packages?

Every wedding package includes:

Wedding day photography coverage
Pre-wedding planning support
Timeline assistance
A relaxed planning meeting before your wedding
A beautifully edited online gallery
High-resolution downloads
Personal printing rights
Access to professional print products
A mix of colour and black & white images

You can also add 35mm film, Super 8, videography, content creation and handcrafted albums.

Do you specialise in a particular wedding style or aesthetic?

My work blends documentary storytelling with a loose editorial feel.

Think natural light, genuine emotion, relaxed direction when needed and images that feel warm, timeless and honest rather than overly posed or heavily edited.

I love garden weddings, winery weddings, city weddings, coastal celebrations, intimate weddings and working with couples who care more about the experience than creating a perfectly curated day.

What should couples know before booking you?

The biggest thing to remember is that you’ll spend a lot of your wedding day with your photographer.

It’s important that you genuinely enjoy having them around.

I want you to feel relaxed, supported and completely yourselves. I’ll help when needed, quietly step back when moments deserve space and make sure you actually enjoy being photographed.

How would you describe your photography style?

My photography is documentary at heart with a loose editorial feel.

I focus on real moments as they naturally happen, then gently guide you during portraits so you never feel awkward or unsure what to do. The result is a gallery that feels effortless, emotional and true to your day.

Do you help with timelines and planning?

Absolutely.

One of my favourite parts of the process is helping couples create a timeline that allows plenty of time to enjoy the day while also capturing beautiful photographs.

I’ll help with ceremony timing, sunset portraits, travel between locations, family photos and making sure everything flows naturally.
