After travelling the world together for seven months, Piper and Max knew this was a forever kinda thing. Fast forward five years, they made it happen with a colourful and oh-so fun wedding at The Terrace in Melbourne. To bring it all together, they called on some of the best vendors goin’ round, including Georgia Verrells who was tasked with taking the incredible snaps (she nailed it, BTW) while Hello May fave Baker Boys Band got the dancefloor going with their high-vibe energy. And don’t get us started on the newylwed fits – the groom suave in M.J. Bale and the bride gorg in a gown purchaed from Bluebell Bridal. Start scrolling to see all the delish deets for yourself…
THE INSPO “We wanted the day to be full of colour and fun and laughter hence the colourful flowers, bridesmaids dresses and the gelato cart! We wanted to honour some traditions but also not do things for the sake of tradition – for example we opted to go without a wedding cake and instead spent that money on creating a beautiful ‘Intention for our marriage’ artwork.”
THE VENUE “We knew we wanted to get married in a garden in Melbourne, so that narrowed options down nicely! We went for a walk around the Royal Botanical Gardens and saw The Terrace setting up for a wedding so we put our faces to the glass doors to have a sneak peek and they invited us in and gave us a full tour! We signed the contract that day and didn’t look back. We aren’t big overthinkers when it comes to these things.”
FAVE DETAILS “The flowers for sure! I gave The Beautiful Bunch the brief that I wanted spring florals with pink peonies as the focus, but other than that, I had no idea what would arrive. When I saw them I was over the moon, they were exactly what I pictured and more.”
THE DRESS “The dress was found at Bluebell Bridal after a few other appointments around Melbourne. I had gone to Bluebell with a very specific dress in mind that I thought would be the one, but when I tried on Flora Bridal’s Federica I knew that it perfectly encapsulated my laid back, minimal fuss vibe and would be so comfortable to dance in all night!”
WE’RE GLAD WE… “Had the bridesmaids pick their own dresses. They all looked so beautifully ‘them’ and I think it looked amazing!”
A TOUCH OF TRADITION “We had friends and family read out traditional religious prayers during our ceremony with their interpretation of them. The themes included love, understanding, commitment and family.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “Our photographer Georgia Verrells was a true standout. She made us feel so natural and happy being photographed and was so bubbly, thoughtful and helpful on the day.”
