We crush hard on proposal stories, from the hilarious to the humble and everything in between – and Tash and Andrew’s is def worth a share! “We went down to the south coast of WA to Esperance to spend some time camping, fishing and exploring the amazing region,” the bride tells us. “We spent a night on a small island off the coast of Esperance called Woody Island, where Andrew proposed to me on the beach under the stars after the most incredible day doing what we love – snorkelling, swimming, hiking and fishing.”

Inspired to share “everything we love about the southwest”, Tash and Andrew took their time planning the dreamiest bushland nuptials and finally said ‘I do’ two years after she said yes, with the talented Alexandra Cohen behind the lens on the day. And speaking of those pics – wow. Tash served modern, elegant bridal in Lola Varma while her new Mr was downright dapper in M.J. Bale.

Yep, every bit of the day suited this pair down to a tee, from the sweet invites by the creative folk at Peppermint Press to “the incredible food and wine at Amelia Park Restaurant“. Definitely all the inspo feels here, friends!

THE VENUE “We explored venues all over Perth and the southern and southwest regions. For us, the southwest is a place where we both feel super relaxed and we spend every possible long weekend down there. Bina Maya Yallingup Escape felt very intimate and had the tranquillity that we love about the area.”

FAVE DETAILS “The cake by Hannah at Bake the Cake was amazing, and the florals that topped it (by our florist, Rose + Bud) were really quirky and fun. Our entertainment, 2 Broke Boys, really set the scene with their acoustic tunes. Finally, Lou Mazzulla, our celebrant, put us at complete ease during our ceremony. He cracked a few jokes, which lightened the mood, and spoke about our best friends who made up our bridal party to involve them in our love story.”

THE DRESS “I travelled to Melbourne with my mum and spent four days straight searching for the perfect dress. I came home really disappointed that I hadn’t found anything I loved. After reading some Perth-based bridal blogs, I found Lola Varma – specifically the Lotta gown. As soon as I saw it in person I knew it was the perfect dress for me.”

MEMORABLE MOMENT “When Andrew and I escaped the chaos for a while with our photographer, Alexandra Cohen, for our photos at Injidup Natural Spa. It was really special to have some time that felt like just the two of us to enjoy such a special moment.”

WE’RE GLAD WE… “I’m so glad we met a lot of our vendors in person prior to the day, in particular the hair and makeup artists, as we spent the whole morning with them and it felt like we all got along so easily and we had a lot of fun.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Alexandra Cohen, our photographer, was the absolute best. She brought the tunes, laughter and really set a great vibe for us and our wedding party. She made us feel so at ease and I think her photos reflect how comfortable she makes people feel and also how talented she is. Her style was the perfect match for us and our day. The florals by Rose + Bud were also absolutely amazing! Everyone commented on how incredible they were. I gave my nana a framed photo of us for Christmas, she said she loved the frame but wanted a different photo because it didn’t have my bouquet in it!”
