Sarah and Sean, together for three years, recently tied the knot over in North Fremantle (or Freo to those in the know) and the oh so talented Emma Macaulay was on hand to capture every glorious moment, from the getting ready shenanigans to the I Dos and some of the most beautiful portraits we ever did see. Take note dear readers, ‘portraits’ isn’t some scary hour of the day where you’re forced into awkward poses. As lens lady Emma shows us here, they can be candid and beautiful, and an hour of alone time on an otherwise hectic day you’ll treasure forever. Just ask the bride as she spills on all the details below including one epic proposal that involves the couples doggo…

THE PROPOSALIt was a HUGE surprise. Sean returned from work one evening with some eggs and avocado that I’d asked him to pick up on his way home. I was preparing dinner when he walked in to the kitchen and he placed everything on the bench and said he was sorry he thinks one of the eggs broke in the car. I continued chopping the veggies and he kept going on about the eggs. So, I eventually stopped what I was doing, opened the egg carton and there was one egg missing and the ring in its place – I was confused and unsure what was going on. I just stared at it and then looked over at him – his eyes were red and he was holding up our dog Colin “Well, do you wanna marry us?” He blurts out.. I was in shock just staring at him for what he says was at least five minutes before he asked if I was going to answer him – obviously I responded with “What? Are you serious? Omg YES!”

THE VENUEOriginally we had a venue booked down south for October 2020, with a guest list of 140. With all the uncertainty of COVID, we decided to cancel that, bring the wedding forward and do something more intimate, closer to home. Guildhall was the first place we visited and we loved the intimate feel, amazing food and beverage choices, the beautiful building and the staff”

THE DRESSMy dress was by Demetrios and I got it through Dion Bridal, covid caused delays but it was ready and altered in time. The staff at Dion went above and beyond for me to make alterations, and changes to the dress, after a slight mishap when it first arrived in from Demetrios – overall the experience with Dion was seamless”.

STANDOUT VENDORSWe were SO lucky with ALL of our vendors. It was a testing time for everyone involved given the global pandemic that was going on but they ALL went above and beyond to make our day everything we could’ve hoped for and more”
