If this ain’t the sweetest woodland themed wedding you ever did see! Lauren and Chris’ big day was a long-awaited delight with the couple together for ten glorious years. You’d never guess this bride only had an hours sleep the night before. Looking infinitely gorge in a Made With Love Bridal Gown with a Karen Willis Holmes detachable train (all from the lovely ladies at Sphere Collective FYI) Lauren’s bridal look is angelic as heck. FAVOURITE DETAILS “The wedding cake and mini cupcakes from Tome were so pretty and ridiculously delicious. Because we had the mini cupcakes most of our cake was left after the wedding so that was also an added bonus. Between Chris, myself, my family and some work friends we polished off the remainder within the next week.”

DIY “I knew from pretty early on in the planning stage that I wanted to gift everyone with succulents. As I did more research, I decided that it would be a nice touch to also double them as place cards. My sister and I purchased succulents from Yandina markets, separated them and planted them into small terracotta pots that I purchased from Kmart & eBay. I took care of them and grew them for about 2 months prior to the wedding. I printed each individual place card with paper bought from office works which I stuck to paddle pop sticks to prop up in each pot.”

THE DRESS “I had my eye on the ‘Stevie’ gown with the addition of a Karen Willis Holmes train but I visited one more dress shop before I made my decision. After visiting the second dress shop I felt sure that the ‘Stevie’ dress with KWH train was the best fit for the big day. That was until Made with Love Bridal brought out their ‘Harlie’ dress in January. The moment I saw Harlie I knew it was the dress for me – I was in love. Not long after Sarah shared it on the Sphere Collective Instagram page I contacted her by email to explain my dilemma in the hope that we could organise an exchange. Sarah was so kind and encouraged me to come and try the dress on anyway and was really just an angel through the whole process.”

A WORD OF ADVICE “A bigger guest list doesn’t always equal a better wedding. When Chris and I had to draw our wedding forward we didn’t really have the money behind us for the big wedding with all our family and friends like we had originally anticipated. With less than 6 months as a time frame to plan and pay off a wedding, we had to decrease our guest list significantly. The package we chose at Spicers allowed us to have a total of 40 people, including Chris and I. We only invited our immediate family, our grandparents and a few of our closest friends. I must admit it was a pretty emotional process cutting our numbers down to fit these requirements. The outcome was far better than we expected because we got this intensely intimate wedding with our immediate family and closest friends. We also found that anyone that we really loved and cared about, that we couldn’t invite, totally understood and respected our decision.”

STANDOUT VENDOR “My photographer Jules was an absolute delight to work with. He made me feel super calm and relaxed the whole day and when we were shooting our photos with our bridal party off-site nothing felt forced, everything felt so natural and real. He even managed to keep my stress levels at bay when the boys went missing the morning of the wedding by reassuring me that this kind of thing happens all the time. He offered to stay a little longer at the end of the night because our speeches went longer than expected and he didn’t want us to miss our first dance. I couldn’t have imagined a better person to shoot our big day. The photos that Jules took from our wedding day really exhibit what a talented photographer he is but even more so, the raw emotions captured also reflect how natural and relaxed we felt in his presence.”
