Welcome to the vast world of globetrotters, Jane and Will. They met right after high school and since then, have lived the Euro dream. “Set on having a wedding at home in the summer,” they waited 18 months before getting married, but it was well worth it. From celebrant, Emma Tomlinson to band  The White Tree, and photographer Brown Paper Parcel, the couple enlisted the help of some of our fave vendors, so scroll down for all the pics – and a chat with the couple, of course…

THE VENUE “Originally, we thought we would get married at my parent’s home in the Mornington Peninsula. However, we were repeatedly warned that this would be stressful organising from overseas. Once we binned that idea, we immediately thought of Merricks General Wine Store, who was amazing.”

THE VIBE “We wanted a laid-back, stress-free wedding that we actually enjoyed organising. We didn’t have a particular theme, except that we wanted it to feel like an ‘Australian’ wedding, so we organised with our florist, Isabella [of Bellewood Flowers] to have native flowers throughout the whole venue. I loved the bouquets [she] put together. Given my bridesmaids chose whatever they wanted to wear, Isabella tailored each bouquet to match their outfit. The flower arrangements were absolutely beautiful!”

THE DRESS “I ended up at The Mews Bridal, based in Notting Hill, which exclusively sells French designers. Given I was in the process of moving to Paris, it seemed fitting. I enjoyed the first couple of visits to bridal stores, but overall, I am very happy I never have to do that again.”

A WORD OF ADVICE “Have fun, and, importantly, be flexible and open to compromise.”

WE’RE GLAD WE… “Didn’t follow our friends’ advice and make a big spectacle of introducing the bride, groom, bridesmaids, groomsmen. It really isn’t us. Instead, our MC did a fantastic introduction and got the night off to a great start.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “We couldn’t speak more highly of all of our vendors. They made the whole process so enjoyable and stress-free. A special shout out [goes] to Kerry from Merricks General Wine Store who was a joy to work with.”

This beaut day was originally publicised in Issue 29 of Hello May magazine. Head over here if you’d like to snag yourself one of our limited copies. And if it’s the vendors you’re after, click through for more from the band – The White Tree and celebrant – Emma Tomlinson. But first…
