Hey I’m Derek! I’m all about good times and chill vibes, and keeping things relaxed on your wedding day. There are no silly poses here (unless it’s for our own personal entertainment of course) and it’s my duty to capture loads of excitement from your wedding.
That means a ton of candid reactions, from all the laughs to all the tears, from surprised jaws hitting the floor during speeches to all the questionable moves on the DF (Macarena > Nutbush).
When it comes to your formal portraits I like to keep it real and casual. Bev in hand with the bridal party in tow, let’s go for a stroll and have some fun along the way. I like to keep the energy levels up and move quickly, as I know that getting back to your guests for a mingle and a chat is one of the most memorable parts of the day.
One of my favourite comments I hear from couples after receiving their gallery is “you captured moments we didn’t even know happened!” and that’s my focus, pun intended. I want you to look back and see the full story, sub-plots and all, and I put no limits on photos received. Every snap comes back to you (unless it’s blurry, in the non-arty kinda way).
Am I ok with getting furry friends involved on the day? Yes please! I’m an animal lover and a dogfather to a hyper energetic bordoodle named Rudy, and with 90% of my iPhone camera roll being dedicated to her I have a lot of practice.
