In the Darling Downs, not too far from Toowoomba, Isabella and Adrian said ‘I do’. It was an elegant garden party with Euro/English influences and lush pops of green throughout – from the bespoke stationery, to the blooms, and Isabella’s cool take on bridal shoes.
In selecting their venue, the bride told us that QLD gem, Jimbour House, was really the only option, and it’s not hard to see why this grand property got the couple’s attention. “It is truly so magical, the staff are incredible and will do anything to make your day perfect. It feels like someone picked up a European mansion and placed it in rural Queensland,” the newlyweds said.
Captured by the “absolutely incredible” Amy Philp photography, scroll on to see more from Isabella and Adrian’s refined rural soiree. Plus, we chat with the couple about their vegetarian menu, standout vendors, and DIY wedding favours that went down a treat.
ITALIAN INSPIRATION MEETS ENGLISH GARDEN PARTY | WEDDING IN A GARDEN
“Adrian is Italian and I have English heritage, so naturally it was a cross between Italian old money and an English garden party. It worked perfectly and I wouldn’t change anything!”
CROWD-PLEASING WEDDING FAVOURS
“Majority of the wedding was DIY, the wine favours I think were a major highlight. I designed beautiful custom labels, whenever I visit someone’s house I see them sitting on a shelf or in their kitchen, it is so lovely to see.”
MEMORABLE MOMENTS | PERFECTLY PAIRED VOWS
“It is so difficult to pick a single moment, but I will have to say that I especially loved our vows. Adrian and I just so happened to have written vows that perfectly matched, we said the same things and made the same jokes, it truly confirmed that we are perfect for each other.”
INCORPORATING SICILIAN TRADITION
“Adrian’s dad insisted upon a Sicilian tradition where the bride and groom are wrapped in streamers by the guests while we danced. This ended up being so fun and everyone (especially Adrian’s dad) got very into it.”
ON OPTING FOR AN ALL VEGETARIAN MENU
“I am really glad that I went with a customised menu, we had so many compliments on the food. We are vegetarian so went with a 100% vegetarian menu. I cannot stress enough, if the bride and groom have dietary requirements, that is how everyone should be eating that night. It was INCREDIBLE being able to eat everything that got placed on the table.”
STANDOUT DARLING DOWNS VENDORS
“Our photographer Amy Philp was absolutely incredible, as I work in a creative industry, I brought a very specific vision and shot list to the table. She was not phased at all and got every single shot and more. We are so in love with our images and have already said we will be recommending Amy every chance we get. My makeup artist Sabrina was truly incredible. I wanted to look like myself on my wedding day, and she understood the assignment completely. Her ability to enhance a person’s natural features is amazing. I had never felt more beautiful than I did on my wedding day.”
