These two groovers had been together for four years when Jez decided it was high time to pop the question. Why marriage? Well, for Jez marriage means, “finding someone you can tolerate being with for more than 40 hours per week” and we sure as heck can’t argue with that! Jokes aside, these two chose to celebrate their big love with a relaxed yet elegant vibe which meant an M.J. Bale suit for the groom and a rather delightful two-piece number from L’eto Bridal for Tara. One of our all-time fave Sydney photographers Scott Surplice Photography was there to capture each and every blissful moment. Scroll down for the snaps…

FAVOURITE DETAILS “Both of us thought that the reception would be the best part of the day and we were in a rush to get there. But, looking back, we both loved the ceremony. Everything was amazing including the dappled light through the trees at Centennial Park. Jessie, our celebrant, did an amazing job of our ceremony so that it was the right mix of heartfelt but not too heavy. Also the band at our reception- The Swamps. They were so much fun and everyone was sweating up a storm on the dance floor.”

THE DRESS “I spotted the two-piece L’eto dress really early on but I thought it wouldn’t suit me so I never went to try it on. In the meantime, I went all over Sydney and even did trips to Melbourne with my bridesmaids to try and find a dress but I never felt like myself in anything I tried. My best friend convinced me to go and try on the L’eto piece I had originally spotted. As soon as I met Anya at L’eto I felt really comfortable. She was just genuinely helpful and didn’t make too much fuss or put me under any pressure. She makes dresses for girls who don’t really like wearing dresses! Once I had made a decision the dress only took 3 months to make. I was so happy with it!”

LITTLE LOL “My grandfather took Jez aside after the ceremony and instead of saying congratulations he said, “you are very lucky to be marrying someone related to me you know.” I was mortified but Jez thought it was hilarious.”

A WORD OF ADVICE “Don’t stew over small decisions. If there is good food, drink and music everyone will have an amazing time!”

WE’RE GLAD WE “We did all of our speeches in one hit at the beginning of the night. It was great because after that everyone could just relax and enjoy themselves. I’m also glad I packed sneakers for the reception.”

WE WISH WE “I wish I didn’t deliberate over candlesticks for 6 months!”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Our celebrant Jessie did an incredible job and everyone commented on our ceremony. She’s the boss of wedding ceremonies! She had towelettes for the boys to clean their hands at the altar and even stitched up our photographers pants when he split them getting out of the car! We have to mention Scott, our photographer , also. We had heaps of fun just the two of us and him in between the ceremony and reception walking the backstreets of Redfern with some epic banter.”
