Although incredible, this wedding was not without its worries, people. COVID changed a lot for us in the lead-up,” explain Racheal and Edmond. “Racheal’s hens in Vegas was cancelled, the 100 guest limit on weddings in NSW was announced in January, a day after we sent out 180 invites and two days before the wedding, our MC and a bridesmaid couldn’t make it due to being a casual contact of a positive COVID case.” But alas, it all worked out in the end and we are so glad some of our favourite vendors were there to capture it on camera (Gui Jorge) and create the gorgeous florals (Pia + Jade). So scroll down for all…

THE VENUESergeants Mess ticked all the boxes and the views of the harbour blew us away. The team were so accommodating and made the process an absolute breeze.”

THE INSPO “I wanted a vibrant atmosphere within the reception venue, with lots of berry florals and warm lighting so you could really feel the love. We kept the number of speeches to a minimum to allow for maximum time on the dance floor.”

FAVE DETAILS “Our music choices were really important to us, each moment throughout the day had the perfect song to go with it. We now play those songs and are instantly transported back to that exact moment. Also, everyone absolutely loved our wedding favours! They were super simple, personalised marble coasters, however, really practical and beautiful.”

THE DRESS “Dress shopping was the BEST experience! I’ve always loved Marquise Bridal designs, however, located in Melbourne, I knew it would be hard to try on their dresses especially during lockdowns. Luckily, stockist, The Ivory Room Bridal opened up in Sydney. Nicole was such a stand out vendor, she genuinely cared so much about her brides and when I tried on my dress we just looked at each other and knew it was the one.”

COOL CUSTOMS “Eddie has Ghanaian heritage, so we encouraged family to wear traditional dress to the ceremony and incorporated Afrobeats into our DJ’s music queue during the reception. Also, I have Aboriginal heritage and delivered an Acknowledgment of Country at the beginning of my speech.”

WE’RE GLAD WE… “We were really happy with our reception floor plan, we decided to put the bridal table in the middle of the room, it meant that we were amongst all of our friends and family throughout the night, there’s nothing worse than having the bridal table so far away from guests that the bride and groom feel off-limits.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Our photographer, Gui Jorge. He had such a calming presence, and his work is just incredible! We were so lucky to have him capture our special day. And my whole glam squad was a dream team, especially my makeup artist, Alex Perrin. She is such an angel and as soon as I got in her chair on the wedding day, she made me feel at ease.”
