Jes and Charlie had to change their original wedding date, but it’s super refreshing to hear it wasn’t old mate COVID that forced their hand, but something far more exciting. “We were looking at having the wedding late 2022. Then in early November, we were excited to find out I was pregnant, due July 2022! We made the decision in early December 2021 that the wedding date would be brought forward to February 12, 2022 – we had a lot to start planning with only 2.5 months to go!”

But heck, did they plan it well even with that short time frame! Seriously, these folks called in the best around to make their day totally dreamy. With Jes’ look by L’eto Bridal  and the talented Liv Lundelius on hair and makeup, and Charlie suave in M.J. Bale and Peggy and Finn, not to mention that flippin’ unreal cake by Belle Bakes and all the beautiful furniture decking out the ceremony (courtesy of Timbermill). Go on, take a look at the photos by Jason Corroto and see just how good a great team of vendors can be.

FAVE DETAILSThe cake by Belle Bakes looked beautiful and was so delicious. Earl Grey seemed an unusual flavour but we taste tested and it really suited the afternoon tea mood.”

THE DRESSMy dress was from the beautiful L’eto Bridal in Newport. I’d been eyeing off their designs for a few months and while I had another fitting elsewhere, I had a good feeling L’eto was where I would find the one. Anya pulled out something completely different and it felt fun, comfortable and perfect for a day wedding in the garden!”

THE SUITWe liked the idea of the light sand-coloured suits that would fit into an afternoon garden wedding nicely. We looked through most of the big name brands so the groomsmen travelling from interstate were able to find the matching suit and settled on the Robertson suit from M.J. Bale.”

REFERENCESI used the Hello May directory quite a lot to search for vendors and request quotes, and found our cake (Belle Bakes), hair and makeup (Liv Lundelius) and furniture hire (Timbermill) there.”

WE’RE GLAD WE…We were really glad we opted for the ‘shared feast’ for lunch, with the food plated in the centre of the tables and our guests serving themselves. It created a really friendly and comfortable setting for everyone, and they were able to serve the food they wanted.”

STANDOUT VENDORSEden & Bell (florists) were so friendly and helpful in setting up for the day. Jason Corroto (photographer) was the perfect fly-on-the-wall for the day. Jason captured our wedding beautifully but never felt intrusive. Botanic House (reception venue) provided amazing food and service on the day and were very helpful and accommodating in the lead-up.”

Jes and Charlie had the official A-team of vendors, and you can find a bunch of them over on our directory. We highly recommend putting Liv Lundelius Makeup, M.J. Bale, Peggy and Finn, Belle Bakes and Timbermill at the top of your call-them-right-now list!
