black and white couples portrait session in the Southern Highlands

When they first got engaged, Cam and Immy admit they weren’t too fussed on having a wedding, and eloping looked a more attractive option. “But looking back now,” the newlyweds share, “we are so happy we went ahead and had everyone we love in one place. Our vendors were incredible and the venue was amazing. We couldn’t have asked for a better, more fun-filled day.”

As indicated the resulting happy snaps, captured by Moments Photography and Film, ‘fun’ is putting it lightly. After all, Cam and Immy’s brief followed a simple but fool-proof recipe: throw a party and have a good time, with great food, fantastic music, and an easy-going timeline.

Below, the newlyweds share the thinking behind it all – from choosing the elegant Southern Highlands’ Robertson Hotel to the standout creatives involved, and their experience getting ready with Grace Loves Lace and InStitchu, icons of the local wedding wardrobe scene.

Rustic vibes at this Southern Highlands wedding venue NSW

“We always wanted a south coast/southern highlands wedding. One of the conditions was to have accommodation onsite so family and friends can party and have a room to go back too. The Robertson Hotel had a beautiful ceremony location, plenty of parking, accommodation onsite, and handled all food and drinks (allowing us to not worry about catering or supplying alcohol). The beauty of the venue with lush trees and an outdoor ceremony was a large factor in our decision. Plus the 100 year old hotel added some beauty to the reception. We also liked having the dinner and speeches in the formal dining room, before moving to the ballroom for an open dance floor. It was the perfect decision and a mix of beauty and rustic vibes.”

Standout details from extraordinary Southern Highlands wedding suppliers

“Immy was most excited for the cake, and it turned out beautiful. One of our favourite details was how extraordinary our vendors were. Moments photography and Dan Will Media guided us throughout the whole day of photos and film and allowed us to relax and not stress over the final details. Divine Productions (Anthony) was brilliant, providing incredible vocals during the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Followed by a fantastic playlist for the reception dance floor which we couldn’t have put together any better ourselves. So in summary, our vendors were our fondest memory as they all went above and beyond to make our day perfect.”

Modern bridal look with Grace Loves Lace

“The dress was from Grace Loves Lace. The attendant who served us was amazing (Alexandria Sydney Store and was dealt with by Loretta). The overall experience was easy and seamless, and they showed genuine care and patience to ensure you chose the perfect dress. I had been looking for around 3 months and had my eye on this dress for two years (but of course had to try on others to make sure). This dress was unique to any others I had seen. It was a two-piece separating the top and bottom. I had always wanted something different to what anybody else had and this delivered.”

Seamless suit shopping experience with InStitchu

“I was referred to InStitchu by Immy’s brother who had used them for his wedding. I was always going to go for a black suit as it suited the venue and is a timeless colour. The experience with them was incredible. They do an initial consult session to find out exactly what you are looking for (style, fabric, colour, etc). They measure you upon the second visit as it is a suit built for you. Once they have your measurements, it is sent off to be made. Make time was between six to eight weeks from memory. Upon pick up, you try it on again and if readjustments are needed, this is free of charge. In my case, it was perfect upon pick up. The process was seamless and they were true professionals throughout.”
