Nurse and Lawyer duo, Bec and Joe, were together for 13 and a bit years before finally tying the knot with a delightfully elegant day on the Tweed Coast. Bec chose a stunning colour scheme of green, white and black offset by bunches and bunches of fresh roses and walked down the aisle in an ethereal custom dress all made up perfectly by our friends over at The Future Mrs. Scroll down for the gorgeous shots by talented lady Tessa Shannon….

THE VENUEAncora had the relaxed vibe we were going for. It’s very open with high ceilings, lots of glass walls and polished wooden floorboards. It’s white, bright and airy inside with the only view being a wide blue/green river and an island of mangroves. They had all of the furniture we needed included so we didn’t have to hire anything else. By the time our wedding day came around they had added a permanent lighting fixture over the dance floor and fairy lights along the deck so we didn’t need to hire extra lighting.”

FAVOURITE DETAILS “THE FLOWERS!!!! Worth every cent. I went and sat underneath the hanging installation and just stared up at it to take it all in. It was just so beautiful. And our freestanding flower towers [by Bunch It Up] which we were married between were next level! They looked better than I imagined. They were later moved inside to make the perfect photo frame for the guests.”

TALK ABOUT TRADITION “We actually had our whole families involved in the ceremony in one way or another. My sister, Samantha, was a bridesmaid. My brother, Costa, passed up the rings. Joe’s sisters, Marianne and Jasmin, witnessed the signing of the registry.”

WE’RE GLAD WE “I’m glad I didn’t spill all the details of the styling of the venue or what myself and the bridesmaids were wearing. I kept all of the details pretty hush hush so that people would be surprised when they arrived. I wanted to hear all the “oohhs” and “aahhs” as everyone saw it all for the first time. It was entertaining listening to them guess what kind of dress I’d wear or describe what they could see me in. Some people were way off!”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Our photographer, Tessa, and her offsider, Lauren, felt like old friends. They were both so lovely and friendly and made us feel easy in front of the camera. We got married on Friday and left for our honeymoon on Sunday. At the airport, on Sunday, I still hadn’t done the official “I’m married” post on Facebook because we’d been so busy. I hadn’t taken any photos during the day so I had no photos on my phone. Just before we boarded our flight Tessa quickly shot through a couple of edited shots so I could upload them. By the time we landed in Rome, she had the album preview done!”
