Adriana & Tom, lawyer and doctor power couple, have been together for 12 long but fab years after having met during their first week at uni. Now, we aren’t even going to bother pretending that we didn’t spend half a day scrolling through this bride’s stunning wedding portraits. THE PANTS, GUYS, THE PANTS. We are sorry we had to shout that but we are sure you understand our excitement. The whole dreamy ensemble was put together by the lovely ladies at Hope X Page. A couple of other Hello May vendors were also present with Grew & Co providing the all-important ring and South Coast Party Hire offering up a place for guests to park their tooshies. Heart and The Sea were there to capture the whole gorge day…

THE VENUE “As I’m from Canberra and Tom is from Sydney we wanted to get married somewhere in between. We had heard about the Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat from family and friends and thought it sounded like the perfect place for us. Once we visited the venue and saw the incredible rock cathedral, we knew it was the perfect spot for us. We loved the flow of the venue and all the different spaces – the sunset deck, perfect for both pre-wedding yoga and drinks and canapes and the pool, which was amazing for our recovery day after the wedding, the BBQ areas which hosted late-night chats and our brunch the next day. We stayed in glamping tents on-site with friends which was also awesome.”

THE PANTS “I am a pant lover and thought I might want to wear pants on my wedding day. I tried a few dresses on but none felt quite right for me. As soon as I tried on the Alexandra Grecco pants at Hope x Page I knew I was onto a winner! They were such a gorgeous cut and the fabric was so light, perfect for a January wedding. I love lace, so I knew I wanted a lace top to pair with my pants. Hope x Page also had the perfect top for me, a short sleeve top by Oui the Label, which matched the pants perfectly. The lace was gorgeous and I loved the little cut out detail in the back. I felt like a bride even though I was in pants and a top.”

FAVOURITE MOMENT “We both had shared private responses to our celebrant’s questions prior to the big day. Unbeknownst to me, our celebrant read them all out before the vows. All we can say is that a lot was shared during the ceremony to a lot of laughter from the crowd. Another highlight was my brother walking down the aisle as one of the most beautiful bridesmaids the crowd had ever seen.”

LITTLE LOL “It was so hot, that some of our friends from New Zealand who weren’t used to an Aussie summer had to sneak away and have some time out in their car with their aircon on to cool down!”

WE’RE GLAD WE… “chose the Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat. Although we felt indulgent asking our friends and family to spend the weekend with us, it was so much fun!”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Our florist Carla [The Ivy League] was amazing. She took care of literally everything for us and even stuck around until after the ceremony to move a floral sculptural piece from the ceremony area up to the reception. Our photographers, Heart and the Sea captured the atmosphere of the day for us perfectly! We didn’t want anything to be too staged, and they absolutely nailed it. We’ve received so many compliments on the photos and couldn’t have asked for a better memory of the day. Our celebrant Soph was also such a legend. She not only held our hand throughout the whole pre-wedding experience but made the day so special and unique for us. She was so warm and we couldn’t recommend her highly enough!”
