Hunting for your dream dress? Stop everything you’re doing right now, make a coffee/ cup of tea/ pour a wine (it’s 5pm somewhere, friends!) and take a moment to peruse Lola Varma’s latest collection, Est. Violet, below. We’re pretty darn sure you’ll fall in love with each and every piece – we sure did!

You’ll find a new take on bridal – relaxed tailoring, casual chic, modern femininity… you get the idea. There’s everything from a luxe silk jersey tank and cowl neck, sleek silks, a super cool, low slung corset, impactful detailing, slinky silhouettes, unique sleeves and all created from top-notch textiles that make the collection unique and next-level luxurious.

Designed by Courtney Illfield (who has extra cred thanks to a career in fashion and wedding photography first), she describes Lola Varma as “edgy, unbound by convention, marrying high fashion and everyday apparel.” The pieces “encourage a woman to uncover who she is, instead of cover. Easy going and quietly confident, the Lola Varma woman is grounded in the essentials, not caught up in the immaterial. With an effortless presence, she embraces her womanhood. She makes the dress her own.” No wonder we love this label. Prices start at $455 and you can mix and match to boot!

Incredibly, it’s designed and handmade in Australia- specifically in the sunny West Australian city of Perth. Not from there? Don’t worry, you don’t need to break border closures to get your hands on Lola Varma (although we would consider it too!). The gorgeous designer is not only found in their own boutiques in Perth and Melbourne but is also stocked throughout Australia (Canberra brides, don’t forget Mrs Fray) and New Zealand, Europe and North America. Impressive, no?

And if none of that works, or you’re in lockdown (thinking of you Melbournians!), Courtney is offering clever virtual fittings for $20 where you can chat everything to do with your wedding dress and even take measurements. Book online and don’t miss the discount she’s also offering for this service, too.

Now, just before you get involved, if you’re keen to see real brides who wore Lola Varma on their big day, check out Elleanor & Jessie’s Rottnest Island Wedding, Alice & Alex’s Sydney Wedding and Kathryn & Simon’s Berry Wedding. But first, scroll down, stat…
