Oh what a doozy Prue and Lukes South Coast nuptials were, with so many of our all-time favourite vendors packed into the one day. We’re talking a Karen Willis Holmes gown (check out her latest ELOPE collection here), a veil from the gals at Grace Loves Lace, a snazzy M.J Bale suit and entertainment by The White Tree Band (only one of the best bands in Sydney, thank you very much). With Oliver Thomson Celebrancy presiding over the business end of the nuptials, what could possibly go wrong? Nothing that’s what. Read on for the skinny from the bride herself with photos by Mitch Pohl.
THE VENUE “We looked at quite a few venues before choosing the beautiful Waldara Farm near Oberon NSW as the one! It was the most stunning venue and we were able to celebrate over three days with our closest family and friends. Both our immediate families were able to stay for a full 3 days in the beautiful homesteads on the property which made it so relaxed for us all and a weekend we will remember forever. We had our guests over the following day for a recovery party and was so great for every to enjoy the property and surrounds for a second day”.
LITTLE LOL “We were lucky enough to have a good friend fly over for our wedding all the way from Argentina (pre COVID) and stayed with us for the lead up to the wedding – instead of showing him the spoils of Sydney he was recruited as our DIY assistant and helped us put together our last minute jobs – from signs, collecting palms and putting together our seating plans”.
THE GOWN “I came across the dress (the Vivienne Gown from Karen Willis Holmes) online and I knew I had to try it. When I put it on for the first time I knew it was the one. I’m not known in my family as the quickest decision maker so I think I surprised them all by falling in love with this dress and deciding on it so easily. I absolutely adore the dress – it encompassed everything I envisaged in a gown – it was the perfect mix of modern, feminine and fun – it had so much personality and the best thing – I felt so comfortable all day long!”
WE’RE GLAD WE “A last minute addition was our champagne tower and it was one of our favourite moments – it was windy day so we had champagne flying everywhere but we absolutely loved the fun of the free-flowing champagne to officially start our celebrations after our ceremony. We also loved having a picnic with our bridal party during our photos – it was such a special moment to relax, soak in the moment and spend some extra time with our bridal party”.
STANDOUT VENDORS “All our suppliers were just incredible – we were so relaxed on our wedding day as we had so much trust in them all. We carefully chose each and every one of them because we admired their work and style and they all made just valuable contributions to making our day the most incredible day it was! Special thanks to The White Tree Band, our dance floor became pretty wild, very quickly and at one stage, the lead singer of the band lay on top of the bar with his guitar and cleared the bar smashing all the glasses with it! Was one of those movie moments and summed up the wild vibes of our dance floor that lasted all night long”.
