A man with an observant, detail-oriented eye it does take to plan a proposal like Renni’s to his love of “six glorious years”, Trilby.

An avid online shopper, it was quite the norm for Ren to walk into the couple’s shared home with multiple packages which Trilby would get delivered to Ren’s office. On this pleasant Thursday, two boxes graced the hands of Ren.

Trilby explains, “I knew what the first one was as I had recently bought a dress online but I had no idea what the second package was. I opened it to find a gift from The Daily Edited which confused me because I had just received a phone cover with my initials TJB from my girlfriends for my birthday a few weeks earlier. I opened the TDE box to find another phone cover however what I didn’t notice were the initials printed on the back which was TJP (P for my new surname).”

“While I sat there confused, Ren took the opportunity to get down on one knee and pull out a small box from his pocket to reveal an engagement ring. I was in complete shock and kept asking what he was doing over and over until he said, ‘you know what I’m doing!’. We still don’t think he actually asked me to marry him in the end but it was a yes either way!”

Trilby likens finding her wedding dress to finding the love of your life. “It sounds cliché, but when you know, you know!”. And luckily for this bride, it didn’t take long for her to find the one. The boutique of renowned bridal designer Karen Willis Holmes was one of Trilby’s first pit-stops saying, “I originally tried a different style and I went back a few weeks later to try this other dress on again, but also tried a few more styles and fell in love with my dress. It was a beautiful, classic style that was very suited to me.”

Whilst initially scouring the likes of (ahem!) Hello May and Wedshed (the Airbnb of wedding venues) for inspiration, in the end most of the couple’s vendor choices came easy when they found their venue, The Barn on Melross on you guessed it, Wedshed. “Melross had some preferred vendors which is how I found Garnish Catering,” says Trilby. “[They were] fabulous, everyone raved about how incredible the food was and Jo and the team were such a delight to deal with!”

About the talented man behind these images, Trilby says, “Blaise Bell was amazing, he is so easy and fun to work with which made us feel very comfortable on the day. The photos were stunning, we couldn’t be happier with the finished product.”

While Trilby is quick to talk about marriage being a lifelong commitment and the promise to love, support and care for each another, she seems to have found the perfect man in Ren when she’s even quicker to say, laughing, “It also means head massages on demand!”
