Taylor & Luke’s wedding is emanating some seriously chic vibes this Thursday morn. Not only did the bride rock a textured bob but she also donned a long-sleeved Karen Willis Holmes gown. As for the groom? Equally snazzy in M.J. Bale. How’s that for taste?! Together for six years, these two tied the knot surrounded by 115 family and friends. THE VIBE “We really wanted the day to be a fun, relaxed day of celebrating with friends and family. Our overall theme was simplicity and laid back elegance. Luke and I kept very true to ourselves, everything there was a perfect representation of our personal style and taste.”
THE DRESS “This was seriously one of my favourite parts of the whole ‘wedding planning/organising’ process. I have always had quite a unique style and really wanted a dress that expressed this. I made an appointment with a wedding designer down in Melbourne to custom make a dress. I, of course, invited mum to come along for the fun. As I was a little bit stressed about how the appointment would go and how much it would cost mum booked other appointments with different designers just in case my original plan didn’t work out. One of those designers that she booked was Karen Willis Holmes. I had never heard of her but nevertheless was excited to try on some beautiful dresses. When we arrived, we were excitedly ushered in and given drinks. They were so friendly and welcoming. There were two dresses from their Luxe beaded collection that I loved. The first I tried on was beautiful and then I tried on the second, called Cassie, and fell in love. As I walked out of the change room my mum just started crying. They put a veil on me and then I started crying, this was the one!”
WE’RE GLAD WE “I was really glad we spent the money on a great photographer. Cassandra Ladru was incredible and so easy to work with. Capturing beautiful images of our wedding day was very important to us and we budgeted accordingly, it was the best money we ever spent!”
WE WISH WE… “Something I wished I didn’t do was worry about the weather. The weeks leading up to our wedding were torrential rain. It was forecasted to rain on our wedding day. I lost lots of sleep worrying about it. It ended up raining lightly on our day and it didn’t even matter. It meant the lighting was perfect for our photos and we were so caught up on being newly married, a little bit of light rain didn’t both us.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “A stand out definitely would have to have been 100 Mile Table. From the get-go, they were so friendly, easy to work with and organised. They tailor-made a menu specifically for us and were more than happy to cater to our needs and wants. Their team on the night was professional, yet very approachable. And the food was heavenly! Luke and I are friends with some pretty big foodies and when they said the slow-cooked lamb was the best they’d ever had, you know it’s good.”
