After a “super bougie, champagne-filled day,” in France back in 2018, these two were engaged for two-and-a-half years before tying the knot. They enlisted the help of a number of our fave vendors, Laura Elizabeth Design (stationery and signage), Karen Willis Holmes for none other than that bridal gown and M.J. THE VENUE “We were living overseas at the time of booking, so we actually didn’t visit any. We originally planned to have the wedding in Italy then decided to do it back home in Australia. Fig Tree Restaurant gave us all the Italian / European vibes and when we saw it had burnt down, we were devastated. Once hearing they were rebuilding, we booked immediately. It looks incredible in photos, but the grounds are so much more beautiful in real life.”
FAVE DETAILS “We LOVED the flowers [by Aurora Floral Studio]. We were inspired by bright reds, soft pinks and white and are still obsessing over them.”
THE DRESS “The Lexie gown from Karen Willis Holmes; a beautiful, hand-beaded, long-sleeved dress. I fell in love with it instantly and knew it was the one. Kalen always wanted to wear a coloured suit, wanting something non-traditional, and found his green suit on his first outing suit shopping!”
A WORD OF ADVICE “Make sure you are both involved in the process. It makes the day so much more special when you get to see everything you picked and decided on together come together.”
WE’RE GLAD WE… “Embraced the rain and didn’t let it bother us or ruin the day. If anything, it made it more special and romantic and made for some incredible photos!
