As far as unique weddings go, Steven and Cam’s is the cream of the crop. For this cute couple, a well-executed theme was essential. With hanging out around the pool with friends and fam as some of their best memories, the lads decided that a rooftop pool party, complete with flamingo floaties and tropical florals, was the go. Fans of The Real Housewives of Melbourne will be more than a little stoked to see who married these two lovers. Scroll down for Cameron of Anchor and Hope Photography’s quality captures…
THE VENUE “We had looked at a couple of venues before but none of them quite fit the fun and relaxed atmosphere that we wanted to achieve. We both love family time, city views of Melbourne and pool party vibes so The Pool Deck was the perfect venue for us.”
FAVOURITE DETAILS “Our favourite detail from the day was the custom-made ceremony wall complete with tropical flower installations and white peacock chairs. With a glimpse of the city behind it, the backdrop really set the scene for a fabulous wedding.”
DIY “We handmade 170 individual chocolate box wedding gifts and hangover cure packs which included custom-made labels in the theme of the wedding. We also created a glossy booklet itinerary for each of the guests outlining suggested activities for days prior to and after the wedding.”
THE SUITS “We incorporated a piece of our mothers’ carefully preserved wedding dresses, repurposed as a pocket square for both of us, our fathers and our brothers. Our suits were tailor-made by Carl Navé, our first and only choice. The inspiration started with our Brixton Gucci Loafers and the Miami pool party theme. Every suit fitting started with champagne and a new development. It was amazing to see the creation of our perfect outfit.”
A TOUCH OF TRADITION “We had a candle lit by both of our brothers to symbolise the family members and friends that had passed. The flame continued all night to remind us that they were in our hearts on this special day.”
A WORD OF ADVICE “It’s sound like a cliché but create an event that will make you happy and represent your personalities as a couple. We always wanted a party with a show and that is certainly what was achieved. There were many times when others tried to convince us to include other elements that were just not us. We are glad we stuck to our vision. We also suggest letting things go on the actual day. For all the planning, things may not always run perfectly. Our motto for the day was “we are on the roller coaster now and there is no getting off,” if things get bumpy on the day, maybe the flowers aren’t perfect or the weather isn’t spot on, just enjoy the ride.”
WE’RE GLAD WE “We are very glad we choose to include roving entertainment. The Huxleys and Tanzer were able to entertain without disrupting the flow of the night as they could interact with the guests whilst they kept dancing, laughing and reminiscing.”
