This is a story of a gorgeous Registered Nurse and Geotechnical Engineer (yes, that’s a mouthful!) who have been together for five and a half years. They also share a delightful daughter- who happens to be wearing the cutest little shoes ever- of course we included the pics, guys. THE PROPOSAL “It was incredibly unromantic in the best way. We had been out for a long lunch and I had been teasing Henry saying the only way to top the day would be a proposal. After mentioning it for the tenth time, Henry produced a ring and asked if I would marry him. I thought he was joking and that the ring was fake, until he got down on one knee and asked again.”
THE VENUE “We were looking for something that hadn’t been done to death. Plant 4 Bowden is unique and different to other wedding venues, so we were really happy with our choice.”
THE DRESS “I wanted something really simple and comfortable. There’s no point in looking good if you can’t sit down, or dance! I went to two other shops before going to The Bride Lab. Laura was really helpful and understood what I was looking for. I actually didn’t entirely love it, but come the wedding day, it felt amazing. It was beyond comfortable and was an incredibly classic and beautiful style.”
MEMORABLE MOMENT “Our dads had both passed away before we met and a lot of the planning of the day was made with them in mind. I had my eldest brother walk me into the ceremony and I think my dad would have been very proud of that moment. After the speeches, we took the opportunity to recognise both of our dads, said a few thank you’s and raised a toast in their memory. There was not a dry eye in the room and it was a moment neither of us will forget.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “The food by Jessie Does Food received incredible reviews by everyone. I literally had friends calling me the following day just to ask who the caterer was. Kate Pardey Photography was amazing! It felt like I had known her for a long time and we felt completely comfortable around her and in front of the camera. We couldn’t be happier with our photos! Also, our celebrant Caryn Rogers was such a character. We both instantly liked her dry and wicked sense of humour.”
