When an ultra-creative visual effects compositor and one of the wedding industry’s best-known entertainers decide to tie the knot, magic happens… Just ask Nat (the brains behind Tillee Music) and Daz, who recently made things official at Audley Dancehall and Cafe, smack bang in the heart of Sydney’s Royal National Park (and less than 50 minutes drive from the CBD).
Having planned a wonderfully romantic engagement (where Daz sneakily tricked Nat into expecting a proposal at one of their fave restaurants), this groom didn’t skimp on the question-popping once they returned home later that evening. £Nat was bummed nothing happened over dinner. When we got home I told her to go upstairs and change into comfies. She came down the stairs after what seemed like an eternity to find the lounge room lit up with huge marquee lights from Sammy and Lola saying MARRY ME’, flowers and champagne.
After accepting with a big heck yes’ (and a gorgeous black diamond ring, custom made by Grew & Co), the couple got to planning their celebration at the Royal National Park. £We’d been there many times as kids and many times as adults. It just has a nostalgia to it, plus it’s so beautiful. Nat, working in the industry has seen and been to most venues in New South Wales but we felt Audley was best suited to our crowd’.
But while the bride was envisioning a £romantic, enchanted and warm vibe – nothing could compare to the joy of finally locking things down with her one true love. Nat, who wore a brilliant off the shoulder Daughters of Simone gown from Love Marie, tells us, £to have Daz be by my side for the rest of my life could not be more special to me, to share in all life has to offer us – the ups and downs. As fun as our wedding was, I am just so excited to have that kind of fun together for the rest of our lives.
As far as standout moments go, this floral-filled wedding was jam-packed. Daz’s best memory? Their first look with talented South Coast based photographer Ben Sowry. £I had to go up to the entrance, under a big gum tree and then Natalie walked up from behind. I heard the crunch of the leaves and the gravel, then felt a soft touch upon my shoulder. I turned around to see my bride for the first time. What a sight, she was just the most beautiful thing I’d ever seen. Her smile, that moment…
I will remember for the rest of my life, says Daz, a self-proclaimed £big softie whose advice for other soon-to-be newlyweds goes a little something like this…Don’t stress. Whatever happens, it’s going to be an awesome day. Get a good photographer…and let the bride have total control. Smart man.
