Lucy and Jonno just can’t get enough of each other and we dig it. “We both work together for my company, Hunting for George, a creative media publication for all things home, design and lifestyle. We’ve worked together for most of our relationship actually, we don’t really know any different”, the bride reveals.
Reflecting on their destination wedding, the duo notes that despite their 18-month engagement, a wedding planner was a must. “Emma from Long Table Events did a phenomenal job pulling everything together,” Lucy tells us. “We didn’t have to worry about a thing. We just had the time of our lives on our wedding day knowing that we had someone there to do that for us.”Another big win? THE VENUE “We love Bali’s Bukit Peninsula! We used to stay at the base of the cliff on Bingin Beach in very basic accommodation but home to the best view in the world. At sunset we’d sit on the beach, drinking Bintangs and look up at the beautiful villas at the top of the cliff, overlooking our favourite spot. When we were looking for wedding villas and found Villa Bayuh Sabbha, we realised it was that same villa we had noticed all those years ago. We knew right away when we saw the view overlooking our favourite spot that we had to get married there!”
FAVE DETAILS “Our late-night snack of Babi Guling – Indonesian suckling pig. This was the one thing that Jonno was very adamant about, he was not going to have a Bali wedding without it and it was so good. The catering for the recovery was also next-level amazing. The Kaki Lima Bali team were so lovely and professional and had local food carts and full bar service. The recovery turned out to be just as big as the wedding day!”
THE DRESS “I had a pretty good idea about what sort of dress I wanted and what style would suit me. I only went to two bridal boutiques and ended up choosing L’eto Bridal, the second one I visited. L’eto Bridal is an independent designer and when I went there it wasn’t a big operation with all the bells and whistles, it was just the designer and me, so I immediately felt comfortable. As soon as I tried on the dress I knew I’d found the right one.”
A WORD OF ADVICE… “Planning an overseas wedding can be quite daunting as there are quite a few variables that are out of your control. I would definitely recommend using a wedding planner that is experienced in the location you want to get married. If you can afford it, it is a great investment, as you get to really enjoy the day!”
