We love a proposal scavenger hunt as much as the next bridal nerd, so we were pretty stoked to read about Jeremy’s sentimental proposal to his love Lauren. Incorporating his bride’s love of riddles, clues and roses, Jeremy also utilised places that had special meaning, including the local McDonalds, where many a late-night DM took place, we are told. All this was topped off by Uber Eats and champagne. Ideal, right? The big day itself was equally fab and complete with golden-hued mismatched bridesmaids gowns, foraged florals and Larsen Jewellery rings. Now, get your scroll on because Hailey of One Spoon Two Spoon has outdone herself with these pics…

THE VIBE “We think we’re pretty fun people, and we really wanted our guests to have fun, which we feel was reflected in our celebration. We really just wanted to throw an awesome party! Having it at Mum and Dad’s enabled us more flexibility, there was no curfew, and people could stay the night. This provided our guests with the kind of flexibility that you wouldn’t typically have at a traditional venue. We wanted our guests to feel relaxed and excited by the entertainment, food and drinks list. We also both like surprises, so intentionally had all parts of the day at different locations throughout the property, which kept guests guessing. We also purposefully had our wedding close to Christmas so that interstate/international family members could make it. It goes without saying that December is a safer bet for good weather than many other months.”

FAVOURITE DETAILS “We didn’t want a cake so we opted for ice cream and doughnuts. Our doughnuts were from Daniel’s Donuts and ice cream/gelato was from one of our local faves, Lavezzi. We also loved our invites! Nanda, from Sunflower Sunshine, did such a great job! She designed a creative portrait of us bordered by native flowers, which we knew would feature heavily on the day and throughout the property.”

THE DRESS “It took me a while to find a dress, which was definitely stressful. I was six months out from the wedding, and I had no solid prospects. Mariana Hardwick was the last place I went before going down the customised route. When I tried the dress on, I instantly loved it! I was tossing up between a bridal gown and a full sequin number. I ended up going with the bridal as I knew I could only go bridal on my wedding day and that every other day I can go sequins – which I often do!”

FAVOURITE MOMENTS “Getting photos was heaps of fun, neither of us had put much thought into what that would be like, but it was the best! The large bridal party (15 total) was such a vibe and the energy between the group felt electric. Jeremy and I then went off with Hailey (our incredible photographer – One Spoon Two Spoon) and Joel (our incredible videographer – JP Taylor Films) for some more intimate moments which was also just loads of fun. We really connected with them, so it was so easy to just be ourselves and have fun with them.”

A WORD OF ADVICE “It’s your day! Own the planning and conceptualisation of the day so that when talking to friends and family you aren’t flooded by opinions and ideas. Know what you want!”

WE’RE GLAD WE “Since I had so many bridesmaids, we thought mismatched dresses would work best. Jeremy and I picked a colour scheme for the day, and the bridesmaids all picked something they liked and felt comfortable in. This also meant the bridesmaids could buy something they felt comfortable in and would wear again. They couldn’t have turned out any better!”
