Sunny Noosa provided the perfect backdrop to this wedding, but it best be noted, it wasn’t this primary school teacher’s first time in a wedding gown! “In the lead up to the wedding, my wonderful students organised a mock wedding at my school where I wore a classic 80’s wedding dress for the day. They were all given ‘secret’ invitations to the mock wedding and dressed up in their best attire for the event. It was very sweet,” says Laura. On their real wedding day, though, there was no 80s gown in sight and they enlisted the help of one of our all-time fave entertainment outfits, The White Tree, and the skills of photographer, Megan Kelly to bring their celebration to life. THE VENUE “We looked at three different venues, but our heart was set on Noosa Boathouse. We loved the relaxed vibe, panoramic views of the Noosa River and the delicious food! We wanted to provide something a little bit unique for our guests, so we did canapes on a sunset boat cruise from the ceremony to The Boathouse. Our bridal party also travelled on a private boat to the reception which gave us some time to relax and enjoy ourselves all together.”

THE VIBE “Noosa has always been our favourite holiday spot in Australia, so for many years we always said that this would be the spot we would get married. We knew that we always wanted a coastal, modern romantic feel. We came across the wonderful girls from Style Le Aisle on Instagram, that helped us create our vision. I knew from when we met them, that I had all the confidence that they were be able to create something magical for us.”

FAVE DETAILS “I loved our invites Paige Tuzee designed using her minimal style calligraphy and hand illustrated magnolia. She continued her personalised calligraphy throughout our signage. The breath taking floral designs from Bloodwood Botanica. And our cakes were something else! The talented Kendra, from Wild Child Cakes created three different cakes using a geode design.”

THE DRESS “My Rime Arodaky dress is from Mews Bridal. I had seen it online and nothing else seemed to compare. When I tried on the Joni Gown, my mum had a tear in her eye and I looked up and said to her ‘this has always been the one’.”

A WORD OF ADVICE “Enjoy the planning by laughing together and not always taking it so seriously. We had months where we wouldn’t open our emails and just enjoy our time together. We would have certain nights of the week where we would make sure we didn’t talk wedding. For the ladies, you need to have a planner. It is a must! I was gifted from my best friend, which helped me be on track week by week. If it wasn’t in the allocated week, I knew I didn’t need to worry about it. The teacher in me also created a wedding folder, with all my budget tracking, visual boards etc.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Our ever so talented photographer, Megan Kelly and videographer, Kieran from And Ever Collective captured the day perfectly. Also the team at Noosa Boathouse looked after all of our guests to perfection. The level of service was outstanding and all of our guests commented on this.”
