We’re suckers for a seriously fun wedding, filled with awesomeness that you don’t see every day. Kate and Andrew’s nuptials was just that- and our favourite part? Other than that bouquet, of course, was the smashing of the plates! No surprises here, but it was also one of the couple’s favourite details, too. THE VENUE “We always wanted something different, something true to Andrew and I. Andrew had said he wanted sit down. When we saw pictures of the teepees, we just had to have them! Morgan listened to our ideas and what we wanted, the style that we were after and that was that! She took control and made it all happen. The Greek Orthodox Church is special to Kate’s family, as her parents and grandparents were married there.”
FAVOURITE DETAILS “The teepees were the wow factor! We hadn’t told anyone what the set-up was going to look like. And even for us, seeing the whole set-up come together was amazing! But the plate smashing after dinner, that was a personal highlight. The photos that Tyler managed to capture were out of this world, we couldn’t be happier!”
THE DRESS “Harriette Gordon made my dress and I could not praise her more! She was the first place I went, and I knew from the get-go that I wanted her to make my wedding dress. She got it. I’m not a laced, bejewelled, frilly kind of girl. I’m simple, and she simply nailed it. Every fitting I had, we would laugh and have so much fun. She was so accommodating and professional.”
REFERENCES “We have known Morgan of Heyder & Shears for years and know the quality of work she delivers. Athan of Heyder & Shears has been a close friend of our family for as long as I can remember and I have always known the impeccable attention to detail that every member of his team delivers. Heyder & Shears did it all, absolutely everything. From furniture and table settings, to food and beverage. Morgan would meet with myself and Rebecca Grace from Natural Art Flowers. She also put me in contact with Jo Hameister of The Cake and I. Every referral and every detail was perfect.”
A WORD OF ADVICE “It’s cliché, but don’t stress! If you can try and have the one key contact to go through, rather than dealing with different vendors, that makes the whole planning process a breeze!”
