Six years ago a disgraced Lance Armstrong (blood bag in tow) and a dark angel met across a crowded Halloween dance floor and as they say, the rest was history. Well actually, it wasn’t until a year later that these two attended the same gig that they went on their first date but we are still claiming love at first sight here. Sixty gowns later, Camilla walked down the aisle in her dream dress, a bell-sleeved Rue De Seine number that she picked up from The Bridal Atelier. Paired with some strappy Forever Soles heels we don’t think wedding looks get much better than this! The talented Josh Jay was there to make sure every tiny detail was immortalised. THE VENUE “Surprisingly, choosing the reception venue was one of the easiest parts of our wedding planning! James has spent many weekends patrolling at Palm Beach, so a few days after we got engaged we looked into having our reception at the Pacific Club. We couldn’t look past the 1920s weatherboard building, lush gardens and incredible views of the beach. It’s a venue that doesn’t need too much styling as the character of the place speaks for itself.”

FAVOURITE DETAILS “The flowers were everything we hoped for and more! My aunt was our florist and I showed her photos of the bridesmaid dresses to use as inspiration. She completely ran with it and what she arranged was perfect – the dusty pink, lilac, ivory and pastel blue tones tied in so beautifully with the bridal party’s outfits.”

THE DRESS “I had a really clear vision of what I was looking for in a dress, which made it all the more difficult to find. My mum and I went to fifteen different stores all around Sydney and I tried on at least 60 dresses! I ended up finding my Ru De Seine dress at The Bridal Atelier. As soon as I spotted the Wild Harlow gown I fell in love with the unique lace, wrap-style and bell sleeves. I wanted to feel like my usual self on the day and a lot of guests commented that the dress was very me.”

LITTLE LOL“At the beginning of the ceremony, our four flower girls started walking down the aisle before the processional music started. When they were nearly down the end of the aisle my mum stood up and told them all to go back and redo their walk once the music started. Even though it wasn’t what we planned, it was a funny moment and did a nice job of making everyone feel relaxed!”

A WORD OF ADVICE “We’re really glad we had confetti cannons! They brought the party vibe to the dance floor and made for really awesome photos. We also loved having my four nieces as flower girls, they really enjoyed the experience and looked so adorable. And I strongly recommend eating all the food! We spent a lot of time considering what food and drink our guests would love, so we made an effort to eat every single thing that was served! No regrets there.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Everyone we worked with was amazing! Our florist, Hercus Design, completely exceeded our expectations. So many guests commented on how epic the dance floor was, thanks to DJ Charlie Villas. And Joshua Jay, our photographer, did an amazing job at making us feel comfortable on the day and we’re stoked with how the photos turned out.”
