These two lady docs have a pretty funny first meeting story, friends. “I (Vaite) was operating on a poor kid’s twisted testicle and Caitlin was my scrub nurse. It was during this very romantic scene, in the beam of the operating light, that I allegedly caught Caitlin’s eye.” Fast forward three and a half years and they were the subject of this glorious wedding, complete with two gorgeous gowns from our go-to’s, Grace Loves Lace and Karen Willis Holmes. THE VENUE “We loved the look of Cowbell Creek from their website. It was the first and only venue we visited and we absolutely loved everything about it. We wanted the day to feel relaxed and effortless. Tracey and her team are absolute professionals. The whole process was seamless and stress free and the styling of the entire venue, from ceremony to reception hall was absolutely stunning. Also, the flowers. Olenka (of Flowers by Ola) absolutely nailed the vibe we were going for, all her arrangements were beautiful and exactly what we requested.”
DIY “We made our own menus / place cards. We also did our own olive leaves for throwing after the ceremony. We picked all the leaves from my mum’s olive trees, which looked really nice in the photos.
THE DRESSES “I (Vaite) tried on the Renata and not to sound cliché but it was love at first sight. It was the one I liked from their website and it was the only one I loved from the minute I had it on. I didn’t look anywhere else apart from Grace Loves Lace. My dress was made to order. Caitlin went to Karen Willis Holmes. She really didn’t think that sequins were her style but as soon as she tried on the Cindy, she also fell in love with her dress. Hers was a brand new off the rack dress which she then had altered to fit.”
MEMORABLE MOMENT “Caitlin and I had a first look inside the barn with our bridal party and our parents, just prior to the ceremony. Seeing Caitlin for the first time in her dress was one of my favourite moments. Our whole ceremony was absolutely beautiful, there was not a dry eye in the crowd. My favourite moment from the ceremony was seeing Caitlin’s grandmother’s face (Heather) when our last name (Graham) was announced. We took Caitlin’s grandmother’s maiden name to carry on in her honour as she is one of three sisters and she has always been supportive of our relationship.”
A WORD OF ADVICE “Enjoy the process, it doesn’t have to be stressful, the key is to be flexible and accept the fact that things won’t always go exactly the way you planned it – and that’s okay. You get to marry the love of your life and small details won’t actually matter on the day. Enjoy every moment on the day because it goes way too fast!”
STANDOUT VENDORS “Colin, our photographer, of True North Photography went absolutely above and beyond, we couldn’t have asked for a better photographer for our day. We are both people who don’t particularly like to have our photo taken but he immediately made us feel at ease, right from the start. He has a keen eye for capturing beautiful shots without making people pose and we were so delighted when we received our images.”
