Say hi to Caitlin and Mark, my good peeps. They are the loved-up duo you see in this chic city wedding and both stylish to boot! Can’t say we were surprised – Caitlin is the Brand Marketing Manager for CMEO Collective and “is most excited when ideating and executing seasonal campaign photoshoots,” so we expected nothing less than a dream event. The talented Jessica Mary Photography captured their good vibes on camera and you can see it all below, so scroll on down for more…

THE INSPO “I would describe my personal style as elevated, modern minimalism, so I decided to replicate this for my wedding. Coming from a graphic design background I played around with different colour pallets and decided on wheat, ivory and classic white. From those, I secured the foundation of my wedding style. I designed my invitations before anything else, and used this as my basis.”

FAVE DEETS “My favourite project was my tiled plinths. I took inspiration from Fleur Studios, an Australian-made, tiled furniture studio. I bought all of my materials from Bunnings and with a little blood, sweat and tears got it done in a few weeks. My invitations were my favourite stationary item and my flowers were absolutely stunning, specifically the table venue floral arrangements. Not only was Teresa (of Angelik Blossoms) an incredible florist but she also helped me plan my candles and other table styling as she had done many weddings at Sunnybrae Estate previously and understood what worked and what didn’t. I really enjoyed working with her, I loved her passion and she was full of creativity and ideas.”

THE DRESS “The dress was the most important thing for me! I knew from early on I wanted Greta Kate to design and create it, so one of the first things I did was book a consultation with her. I was very specific in what I wanted, something timeless and minimalistic with a modern edge. She was so lovely to work with and made the experience so incredible. Our appointments were my favourite thing leading up to the wedding, it was honestly a dream to go through this process and made wearing the dress that more special.”

THE SUIT “Mark opted for an InStitchu Premium Italian 100% Merino Wool Black suit with a shiny rounded lapel. We took a piece of 100% silk fabric from my gown to make the pocket square.”

MEMORABLE MOMENT “Mark and I both wrote each other cards before the wedding day and read them while getting ready in the morning. I highly recommend this – it really sets the tone for a beautiful day to come. My photographer and videographer had my father come out for a reveal and I’m so glad we did that. I don’t think I’ve ever seen my Dad cry so to see him teary was a moment I’ll forever cherish. And walking down the aisle – when I finally saw [Mark’s] big cheesy grin it increased my excitement and filled me with complete joy.”

LITTLE LOL “Not really funny, more a failure. Mark and I decided to do a few dance lessons to get ready for our first dance. We were absolutely nailing it at our dance classes and practiced at home a lot. I’m so glad we did it because we had so much fun and it was something different to do together. [But], the time came to execute this professional rumba routine and we absolutely flopped. We were stepping on each other’s feet, completely out of time with the music, stiff as anything and our turns were hilarious – I didn’t take into consideration that my silk gown had no stretch and I couldn’t lift my arms higher than 10cm!”

WE’RE GLAD WE… “Had a really big bridal party – 16 of us – because it was so fun hanging out with a big group and everyone’s energy together made for an absolute ball. Although we doubled our bridal party expenses it was absolutely worth it!”

STANDOUT VENDORSJessica Mary Photography was an absolute standout, she was with us from the beginning of the day until the very end. She captured our day so perfectly. You don’t realise until you get married that you don’t see everything you imagine like your bridal party entering your reception as an example, so to be able to relive your whole day and night through great photography is so special. She bought the energy and good vibes – everyone felt so comfortable around her. Hype Queen indeed!”
