This physiotherapist duo have been together “a third of our lives already!” Aka, 10 years. They held their beautiful wedding at Brooke’s parent’s private property, but it wasn’t without a few hiccups (more on that in the little lol below!). Lilac in Hand Photography documented the day. Scroll down for all the deets…

LITTLE LOL “We planted ryegrass in the wedding paddock so it would be a bit greener for the wedding, but with the warmer weather it started to lose its lush appeal So the night before the wedding, Cameron was out, dying the grass. A bit of an unusual pre-wedding ritual! Also, my sister had frozen our wedding cake – apparently, it makes it easier to do the icing, but when we went to cut the cake, it was still frozen. We got about an inch in and the knife just stopped – we both tried to force it but when the knife started bending we knew the battle was lost!”

FAVE DETAILS “Everything on the tablescape. The goblets especially! A special day deserves a special cup. Hiring these glasses was a slightly unnecessary expense that I do not regret at all! My flower crown. I didn’t really know what to expect with this – I hadn’t been able to find any pictures of anything I really liked. Instead, I sent the florist pictures of what I didn’t like and somehow she pulled something off that was even better than I expected – not too subtle, not too bold and it sat perfectly.”

THE DRESS “My dress was from Caleche. It was made to measure and I was able to customise everything – choosing my lace, the fullness of the skirt, removing straps and adding sleeves. The process of making the dress was really good and the team at Caleche were so accommodating.”

REFERENCES “I had just started researching marquee and furniture hire when I stumbled across Barossa Styling & Events. From there we had a date and so I quickly locked in Vintage Chef Co for catering and then used Adelaide Weddings Chit Chat (FB group) to start looking into celebrants – this lead me to Bel Nation.

A WORD OF ADVICE “Have trust in the people in the industry and lean on them for advice and recommendations. Also, don’t decide to do a choreographed first dance six days before your wedding. We were up so late learning and practising our dance in the week leading up to the wedding.”

WE’RE GLAD WE… “Got married on the property, but at the same time, also wish we didn’t get married on the property. It was so personal and we could make it what we wanted, but the work we put in was very time consuming, we were on the property most weekends and a lot of the week leading up to the wedding. Also, we need to hire absolutely everything, so not exactly the most budget-friendly.”

STANDOUT VENDORSBarossa Styling & Events – they did so much more than just make everything look beautiful on the day. Chelsea was essential in coordinating all of our vendors in the lead up to the wedding. Having Chelsea and her team on board took away some of the stress in the lead-up and most importantly, meant we didn’t have to worry about the setup and pack down and could just enjoy the festivities. Vintage Chef Co – the food was amazing, everyone raved about it. The only disappointing thing – I was pretty well full after the canapes!”
