THE VENUE “We looked at a few different venues, knowing we wanted to have both the ceremony and reception at the same place. We decided on Sudbury as we wanted our guests to be able to get away for a night or two and enjoy the celebrations, whilst also having a super easy venue that didn’t require much decorating – it was already beautiful. We also loved the outdoor dance floor!”
THE THEME “Our overall vibe was autumnal colours with elements throughout the day that symbolised the bringing together of our families.”
FAVE DETAILS “The personal touches – my Aunty and cousins did all the flowers with the majority of them coming from my family’s gardens. Grandad made our wedding cake. I also got to wear a family double cameo broach that has been worn for five generations of brides. Our invites and stationery all had illustrations drawn by Smitten With Love that joined our two families together.”
THE DRESS “After spending a day trying on so many different dresses I fell in love with the idea of a top and skirt combo. There was Daisy By Katie Yeung set at Paperswan Bride, however, after much deliberation decided on a tighter Anna Campbell skirt. I added pearls down the zip of the skirt to tie in with the back of the top. I was so happy with my choice and so comfortable in it all day – it was the perfect combination of classic elegance with modern elements.”
MEMORABLE MOMENT “During the ceremony, we decided to ‘create my bouquet’ having six close guests each bring up a section of my bouquet to complete it. One section was for those who aren’t with us, another for the joining of family and friend groups etc.”
A WORD OF ADVICE “Listen to the groom’s wacky ideas because one or two might be a banger – a lot of the guests’ favourite things from the day were Brad’s idea! And don’t waste time looking at the weather forecast every hour in the days leading up, it will be what it will be!”
WE’RE GLAD WE… “Went for a great venue and amazing vendors that meant we didn’t have to stress in the days leading up to the wedding. This allowed us to enjoy spending time with family and friends coming together for the weekend.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “Our photographer Meredith Lord Photography and her husband Chris were absolute machines. We felt so relaxed around them and the photographs are absolutely stunning. It was great to have two photographers to capture all the candid snaps as well. Our band, Urban Ersha were so easy going, having to stick to the venue’s restrictions around space and speaker volume levels etc – they had never played with that set up before but still absolutely smashed it and had everyone up dancing.”
