In the words of Ally & Josh’s son, “Yay!” (read the little lol below). That is literally how we feel about this incredible day. Laidback as all that, Ally & Josh were in it for a good time and trusted their rad team of vendors to nail their respective roles. There was House of Lucie behind the lends, The Wedding Designer on a selection of hire items, The Wilderness Chef on noms and Morelife Films creating cinematic goodness. The results? Well, why don’t you scroll down…

FAVOURITE DETAILS “I am so happy and also proud of how the florals turned out, it was a massive task to take on myself and there were times that I doubted my decision, but after doing our engagement party and our baby shower previously, I felt like I had enough experience on the markets and how to process them, that with help, I would be able to pull it off. The Saturday morning before the wedding we drove down to Sydney at 4 am with my two Maids of Honour and Mum and we scouted a few stalls I’d been following on Instagram. We then drove back had a quick nap and spent the entire Saturday processing and putting together the bouquets and arrangements at the venue. Although tiring and slightly stressful it was so nice to spend the day with them being creative and seeing the red, pink, mauve and peach palette that we went for come together so beautifully. It felt like a piece of me was in the wedding and it makes it even more special to look back at the pictures and see the arrangements.”

THE DRESS “I might sound like a bit of an anti-bride but my dress was honestly probably the least prioritised aspect of the day for me. I again just wanted something simple and timeless and did not want to spend a lot of money on it as it wasn’t important to me. I saw a few I liked online and decided to purchase the slip from Lexi about nine months prior and just showed my bridesmaids at home. I had it altered to remove the strap adjusters and fit a little better around the bust and that was about the extent of it.”

MARRIAGE MEANS “It still means beard clippings in the sink and my passenger seat driving as per our speeches to each other! But more meaningfully, it means all three of us sharing the same last name and choosing to spend our life together as a loving, kind, fun family unit throughout whatever life throws at us.”

LITTLE LOL “During our ceremony, when we were pronounced Mr and Mrs, our son yelled out without any prompting, “Yay!”. It made everyone laugh and was one of the best moments of our day and lives.”

WE’RE GLAD WE “Didn’t let the rain bother us! I thought leading up to the day the weather would really affect my mood and how the day went and although we were slightly behind schedule at times and dripping wet by the end of the day, the torrential rain made it what is was and made for the best pictures (especially having to find a wet weather option for bridal party pics – we went to Earp Distilling Co. – a local gin bar who were so accommodating). All I can say is, find vendors that you connect with and trust them! They organised that on the day without us even having to lift a finger, and we got to have a drink there with just our bridal party out of the rain and soak up the fact that we really did just get married!”

STANDOUT VENDORS “All of our vendors were incredible – we really did find the A-team. From our beautiful makeup artist Bonnie-Lee and my wonderful long term Hairdresser, Victoria, to our hilarious celebrant Monty, the caterers The Wilderness Chef (our food was a huge talking point for so many guests, even the fussy ones!), our Photographer Khara [House of Lucie], Videographers John and Chelsea [Morelife Films] and DJ Sam were our mates on the day and afterwards and we really felt like they went above and beyond to make our day what is was. They understood us as a couple, captured us and celebrated us in a way we think only they could have – we honestly had so much fun with them.”
