“I had travelled around Italy with a ring that cost more than my car, and it had come down to this, four days to find the perfect location and time”, says Andrew of his proposal to Alex which took place in Paris. “Clichû?, perhaps. Memorable? absolutely.”
Their wedding, held at Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel was equally unforgettable. Nestled right on the water’s edge they created an intimate and relaxed affair that boasted beautiful signage by Written by Hand, a cake by All Things Sweet by Carissa and blooms by Poho Flowers.
“Barnaby from Poho flowers nailed the brief and the entire room was magnificent”, says Alex who wore a glamorous silk gown by Johanna Johnson featuring hand dyed Swarvoski crystals. “What really made the dress was the crystal body chain, which is separate from the dress…”
Andrew on the other hand sported a kilt to honour his Scottish heritage and also organised to have bagpipes played as they exited the church. “It was absolutely beautiful and emotional”, says Alex who, a self proclaimed perfectionist, took care of almost everything else.
A quick trip to One Fine Day wedding fair helped her find The White Tree for the evening’s entertainment while The Robertsons were handpicked after plenty of research to find one the best local photographers. “They made it an enjoyable rather than painful experience when taking all the photos.”
