Loving this vintage map invitations from the fine folk of The Hungry Workshop, based in Melbourne. Created for Nadia and Chad, Hungry Workshop’er Jenna tells us “this couple travelled all the way to the small French provincial town of Eygaliû?res (via Paris, of course) with their closest friends and family to celebrate their wedding. We designed and letterpress printed a very small save the date that announced the intimate occasion in the tiny town in the south of France. Plans were made, flights were booked.”
Jenna goes on to say “the destination is the exclamation of a journey, so creating a map for the invitation seemed fitting. Letterpress printed in a metallic gold ink over a soft pink map of France on Stephen Scrambled White 115gsm, the invitation laid out the adventure before the guests with carefully crafted art nouveau typography. A short reading list and a few handy phrases were included on the invitation, all tucked into custom string and button envelopes.”
“The large format of the invitation required us to print the maps on our Asbern Proof Press. Each sheet was hand fed twice through the press and then folded up to fit into the envelopes, a true labour of love.”
