Labelling themselves “partners in crime for life, lovers and besties”, Courtney and Kieran got engaged while on a romantic Blue Mountains getaway. “I really should have caught on! It was so beautiful, he proposed on our last night at the hotel. We were staying at Lillian Fields in the gardens by ourselves. As the sun was going down, I was totally taken by surprise when I turned around and he was down on his knee. It was perfect. I love surprises.”
Held at Hopewood House in Bowral, Courtney and Kieran were engaged for just under a year before making things official. “We fell in love with Hopewood House and a date was available so we jumped on it we had to have it there’s something so magical about the property. We saw it in a country magazine for sale about a year before and we joked we would love to buy it. Being way out of our price range, we settled on having it for the day and night,” explains Courtney, who wore a gorgeous Viktoria Novak headpiece with a Daalarna gown from Sydney bridal boutique Hope X Page.
“I’m so in love with my dress, I went shopping to lots of different boutiques but when I walked into Hope X Page and meet Alex I knew I was in the place I would find my dress it was so different from what I thought I would wear but you have to go with your heart, Eva the in-house seamstress is so talented and made all my wedding dress dreams come true,” says the bride, who hired the ever so talented Gui Jorge to photograph the good times.
“Gui, our photographer, was amazing. To be honest, I didn’t really notice him all day – but when I did, he made us feel so comfortable. We are so in love with our photos. He captured our day perfectly,” Courtney tells us, adding that hiring a cinematographer was one of the best things they could have possibly done.
“We are so glad that we got a video! At first, Kieran wasn’t keen on it but honestly it’s so true what everybody says about your wedding day. It goes by so quickly. The first time we watched our video by Soda Films we cried our eyes out because we loved it so much.”
And when it comes to advice for other couples getting hitched? These newlyweds say have fun with it! “Enjoy every minute don’t get carried away with the small stuff and always remember why you’re doing it don’t forget the big picture and forget the budget it always blows out a little haha!”
