We thought we’d wrap up the last week of 2017 with a bit of a ‘Best Of’ series. We kicked things off with the most popular bouquets followed by gowns and cakes which leads us to today – real weddings! Yep. According to your clicks, likes and comments through out the year these are the ten weddings you were loving on the most.
We’ve seen our fair share of big (and small) days this year, and whilst we’re head over heals in love with every gorgeous shindig we’ve published (we really are, promise)! There have been a few stand-outs worthy of a second mention. So, whilst you laze about this Christmas/New Years break, sit back, relax, and take note of these epic parties, touching moments and breath-taking events…
ELLIE + LUKE, PYREE, VIC
Details, details details! Ellie and Luke’s NSW wedding was no doubt a Pinterest lover’s dream, and for a good reason. Packed to the brim with DIY, a bespoke Spell Designs gown, stunning venue, and gorgeous photography from Daniel Milligan, this wedding has been on our favourites list from the get go.
HAILS + MATT, GEELONG, VIC
If you follow us in Instagram, you’ll no doubt remember this crazy/epic/totally awesome Victoria wedding, featuring some rather amazing floral installations, a circus/festival themed reception, and a burning car?! Yep, Hails and Matt pulled out all the stops, we’re just glad the fabulous lens-woman Cassandra Ladru was there to capture it all!
ANGE + BRENT, SOUTH COAST, NSW
Without a doubt the most incredible/crazy/electric/fun/vibrant/unique dress we’ve seen to date (I mean, the gorgeous bride Ange designed it herself, how amazing is that?!) Ange and Brent’s spectacular South Coast wedding is one for the books. “I think Brent was secretly petrified of my dress, he knows i’m a little weird and it would be covered in sequins! With Dean Snushall Photography there to capture the day, the bride mentions she let her vendors go free rein when it came to the creative stuff, an attitude we love and respect!
JEMMA + MATT, BRISBANE, QLD
That dress, those expressions, AH! From the moment we saw the stunning shots from Janneke Storm, we knew we’d love this awesome Brisbane couple. Jemma and Matt’s laid back approach to their big day has us grinning ear to ear. “We didn’t want our wedding to be anything that we weren’t. It almost just felt like a big party.” (Also, their cake was full of cookie dough…so…we’re just gonna leave that here…) Where was out invite?!
JULIA + KIERAN, BYRON BAY, NSW
Who could forget that gorgeous bouquet and this stunning marquee that looked over the Byron Hinterlands?! Julia and Kieran’s wedding had just wishing we got an invite, not to mention we fell in love with the gorgeous work from their vendors. There to capture the day was none other than Mr lensman, Dan O’Day.
LAUREN + RYAN, SUNSHINE COAST, QLD
With a groom that was just as much involved (if not more) than his bride in the wedding planning, Lauren tells us that their big day was largely thanks to Ryan’s efforts! Their gorgeous bushland wedding was a stunning intimate affair that had us grinning ear to ear. A stunning Rue De Seine gown from Brisbane boutique The Babushka Ballerina, and Ben Sowry there to photograph the day, it’s no wonder this wedding was a major hit this year!
JESS + NICK, HUNTER VALLEY, NSW
Look at those smiles! We absolutely loved the stunning photos from Jess and Nic’s Hunter Valley wedding, captured by the fabulous Barefoot and Bearded earlier this year. Despite the rain, their day was nothing but good times, as Jess mentioned, “My beautiful photographer Joel took one look at me (apparently I don’t have a great poker face) and realised I was starting to freak out. He grabbed his phone and said £let’s just listen to this song, and as soon as Have You Ever Seen The Rain?’ cranked from the speaker, we all just burst into laughter and happy tears.”
VANESSA + SEAN, BELLARINE PENINSULA, VIC
A gorgeous Victoria wedding for the international jet setters Vanessa and Sean meant embracing the beautiful Australian landscape, which was artfully interwoven in those stunning bouquets! Not to mention we’re loving the glittering textures of those bridesmaids dresses, what a dynamic look they make! There to capture the day was Stories By Ash and Humdrum Films , two of the best in the biz.
TESS + BEN, PERTH, WA
With a lensman like James Simmons there to photography your day, you know you’re in good hands, as Perth couple Tess and Ben found. The pair enlisted the help of some of the industry’s finest, and boy did their wedding turn into a spectacular event, I mean check out that marquee!
CHRISTEN + ROB, HINTERLANDS, FIJI
These guys blew us away with their stunning Fiji elopement earlier this year, and it’s easy to see why. Christen mentioned one of her favourite moments was when their photographer from Kama Catch Me put on a song whilst the couple enjoyed the views of the sun setting, and had a spontaneous first dance on the hilltops, a touching moment that had us feeling all the feels!
