For this busy pair, their engagement came down to timing-but not for the reasons you’d expect! With almost six years already under their belt, Mikey spent a whopping 12 months designing an engagement ring for the unknowing Alisha. The blushing bride added, “(My sister) had actually worked with Mikey to design the ring…and had to wait in silent anticipation until he proposed she said it was just about the hardest secret she has ever had to keep!”
With their reception at the iconic Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel, the theme of their day incorporated a blend of tropical prints, colours and textures (check out that incredible arbour!) “We loved the idea of crisp white flowers and lots of green tropical foliage with hints of gold so that’s what we ran with…Sally at A Little Character dubbed the theme tropical luxe’.”
When it came to the dress Alisha mentioned she’s more of a ‘jeans and top’ kinda gal, so the whole process of finding the perfect gown was a little haywire. After finding the right dress (or so she thought), she received a letter from the designer notifying her that the company had been liquidated-her dress included…After a great deal of searching, she finally discovered Sarah Janks designs. “From the day I had my first fitting with Diana at the boutique it was love. The whole process was smooth and easy Diana also was so lovely and down to earth and each time we caught up it felt like I was seeing a friend.”
The pair enlisted photographer Anna Turner to capture their day, Alisha adding, “Anna was also amazing. We hit it off from our first catch up… The shots that she took from our wedding captured EVERYTHING about our day so perfectly and she was just such a legend to work with!”
