Delightful proposal moment incoming, dear readers. Tegan is the brains behind one of our fave mobile bars going around, My Little Peony. Designing, planning and styling weddings all across NSW, this lovely lady knew she’d have to pull out all the stops when it came to proposing to her long-time lover, Robbie. Entering their charming vintage caravan bar into the Sydney Mardi Gras Parade, Tegan popped the question mid-route with thousands of parade-goers watching on. Super spesh right?! Well, read on for the sweet details of their big day and the even sweeter pics by Alana Taylor Photography…
THE VENUE “Both our ceremony and reception sites were unseen before the big day. We knew we wanted to head overseas with our closest family and friends and I had been to Queenstown a few times before, knew the scenery was stunning and that it wouldn’t feel like ‘work’ for us. Robbie and most of our guests had never been to NZ before.”
FAVOURITE DETAILS “I did the florals myself, I was literally still making my bouquet as Robbie arrived for our first look photos. I just love the acrylic teal leaves Sketch and Etch made for me, they were something totally different and a little fun on the day.”
FAVOURITE MOMENT “It was a bit of a risk but because we had such a small group we actually asked all of our guests to make a speech during the reception – what we called ‘shared words’. Not only did they share stories and advice, but this was also by far the most emotional moment of the day and something we are so glad we asked everyone to do”
WE’RE GLAD WE… “Did a separate first look between Robbie and I before the ceremony and then all went on the bus together with our family and BFF’s to the ceremony. It took all the nerves out of the day and just helped us have the best time.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “Everyone we booked was so fab but Alana our photographer was incredible, so fun, relaxed and spent just about as much of the day crying with us (happy tears) as we all did. We also couldn’t fault Tanya from Behind The Scenes Event Hire who we flew over from Sydney to help set up everything we planned on the day. She totally nailed the brief and we wouldn’t have had the day we did without her.”
