From day dot Kirby and Jim chose to follow their instincts and never look back. The result? A magical and relaxed day that didn’t cost them their sanity. “There was no question that we both wanted a cocktail style wedding”, says Jim grateful to the staff at Seclusions who made it happen. “Seclusions made our day. They were the perfect venue, so relaxed, accommodating and helpful, nothing was ever a problem.”
Jane of Floreat Floral also went above and beyond the call of duty, creating a plethora of breathtaking arrangements. “I was so impressed”, says Kirby who had been fairly vague about what she wanted, especially toward her hair and makeup artist Brad Ballard. “I hadn’t decided on a style for the day and he gave me the advice that £you want to look like yourself but a more refined version, and I’m so grateful of that because I felt comfortable all day.”
Dressed in a simple yet stunning gown by Rue De Seine, Kirby says she wasn’t even worried about posing for photos. “Jim and I hate having photos and don’t have many together so for [Scott] to make us not look too awkward was so impressive!” she says of Scott from The Simple Things Studio who didn’t know that his request for a group photo would land someone with cracked ribs.
“During photos Scott asking everyone to do something random – what followed was the best man miserably failing to execute a hand stand resulting in a few re-cracked ribs. I think it was karma after he shot Kirby in the back of the head with a champagne cork!”
