Lex and Dave have never tried to be anything other than awesome. It’s just who they are and so, throughout their three month engagement, they made a number of awesome decisions. They hired legendary photographer Lara Hotz, florist Merci Bouquet and stationery designer Your One And Only and had lamingtons in lieu of a wedding cake.
“When we found what we liked, we went with it. The result was a day that truly reflected us, our personalities and the things we love”, says Lex who without further ado, also booked Studio Neon as their reception venue. “A quick Google search title “alternative wedding locations” led us to this gem, one visit and we signed on.”
It was here that, following their intimate ceremony at Centennial Parklands which included a Greek crowning ceremony, that their guests were treated to Lex’s Yia Yia’s (Greek Grandmother’s) spinach pies, Dave’s brother’s home brewed beers and some of Lex and Dave’s craftwork.
“In our spare time we made confetti bags, table decor, a “guest book”polaroid washing line, chair tags, winners ribbons…” says Lex who on the day, didn’t appear to have a worry in the world.
“On the way home from getting my hair done at Norman and Brown on the big day I was caught casually strolling around Oxford St dropping into shops. This is actually where i picked up the colourful picnic rugs which featured at the ceremony a few hours later. The retailer “your the most chilled bride ever!” If only she met me a few days earlier; lexzilla!”
