They say the best things in life are free and if Janet Jackson agrees, it must be true. Looking at this couple’s magical ceremony, we’re now big believers too. For these lovebirds, the enchanted Sugar Pine Forest in Laurel Hill, New South Wales was a no brainer – “I love the forest and years before I even lived here when visiting my family I was captivated by the Sugar Pine Forest and how one day I might walk down the aisle there”, Laura said.
It also helped to have Dezley from one of our favourite florists, Twigs and Grace as a wonderful family friend. She travelled all the way from Noosa, waved her magic wand and instantly transformed their reception venue into a beautiful, romantic space using foliage from the forest and gentle lighting designed by Laura’s sister Angela.
They also say that many hands make light work. Again cliched but oh so true! Angela also organised a secret flash dance for the reception while Heidi sewed her own bridesmaid dress. Justin put his handyman skills to use, making wooden pews and platers for food. Meanwhile Laura’s dad made blueberry jam at his farm as her musically minded friends rehearsed songs to play at the ceremony.
Their efforts created a very special, eco-friendly day that was everything this happy couple had hoped for. “Everything about the event was splendid and my mouth ached from happiness by days end”, said Laura.
