Holly and Claude’s day, hosted in the heart of Hobart, had all the romance and charm we’ve come to expect from Tassie’s capital. This gorgeous duo, who’ve been together since teenhood, said ‘I do’ under one of the dreamiest, drapiest arbours we’ve ever laid eyes on. Later, with loved ones, they raised glasses of local vino fermented in rich family history and shared in Italian-style feasting from Sabre Catering (did you see that Tiramisu?!)

“We’ve been together for a long time, so having this one day where all our family and friends were in the same place celebrating with us was so special,” shared the bride, who wore a Jenny Yoo gown for the ceremony, paired with Lolaknight jewels.

Behind the scenes, Claude and Holly told us that having a planner like Dear Leone was a game changer. They also gave a shoutout to their “incredible” photographer, Kinship By Kristy, explaining that her relaxed, candid approach made both the bride and groom feel “totally at ease”. No surprises there!

Reflections from the newlyweds and artful pics to adorn your moodboard – check it out below.

ICONIC HOBART SPACES TO GET HITCHED

“We wanted spaces that felt authentically Hobart and showcased its charm. The ceremony at Grande Vue gave us that intimate, beautiful setting with character, while the Long Gallery was the perfect blank canvas, in the heart of Salamanca Place for the reception, big enough for all our friends and family but still warm and full of atmosphere. We looked at a few others, but these two just felt right. It was also really special for us to get married here, as we both grew up in the area, so celebrating such a big moment here felt meaningful.”

ITALIAN-INSPIRED FEASTING

“Claude has Italian heritage, so the day was built around that vibe, like a long Italian Sunday lunch. We wanted bottles of wine on the tables, delicious food served in abundance and everything to feel warm, relaxed, and inclusive. Olive velvet tablecloths, simple but elegant florals and an Italian feast set the tone.”

ASSEMBLING THE DREAM ‘I DO’ TEAM

“It was a mix of word of mouth, Hello May (where I saw some of Kristy, our photographer’s work), Instagram and our brilliant wedding planner, Gee (Dear Leone). The one thing we really had our hearts set on was something different with music since we weren’t doing a first dance, and that’s how we stumbled across SXNCELLO. I saw a clip on Instagram and thought they were incredible. When we met them on the day, they were such lovely people. We had a vision, and a lot of that was pulled together by Gee, at Dear Leone.”

SENTIMENTAL WEDDING WINES

“One of the most meaningful ways we included family was serving family Pinot Noir & Resiling wine at our reception. ‘The Last Vintage’ (made by Claude’s Dad), which we shared with every guest, wasn’t just about the wine itself, but what it represented; family, heritage and celebrating together. It was a nod to Claude’s grandfather, Claudio Alcorso & Dad, Julian Alcorso, who planted some of the first grapes in Tasmania at Morilla Estate, now more commonly known as MONA, and for their influence on the Tasmanian wine industry.”

A PLANNING GAME-CHANGER

“We’re glad we locked in a wedding planner/coordinator early. Gee (Dear Leone) kept us focused, did the heavy lifting, helped us stick to our budget and was the best sounding board throughout the whole process. Like anything in life, you have to weigh up the pros, cons, and costs, but we honestly can’t overstate how much stress was lifted off our shoulders by having her on board. Especially when you’re organising everything, down to the cutlery… having someone experienced to help is an absolute game changer.”

True to form, Kinship By Kristy’s pics have wowed us yet again. Snag yourself a spot on Kristy’s books. Or, if catering is next on your list, we highly recommend reaching out to Sabre Catering (they’re based in Hobart, but don’t worry if your wed is further afield – these folks travel!)
