Dear Leone

At Dear Leone, we don’t just plan weddings – we throw parties, and really, really good ones. What started as founder Gelisa’s natural love for hosting has grown into a creative studio known for transforming blank spaces into layered stories of tone, texture, and light.

Our approach is simple: effortless yet elevated, casual yet sophisticated. Every event is designed with intention but never feels forced – chic, detailed, and full of personality. We believe the best celebrations are the ones that feel easy, stylish, and completely unforgettable.

Dear Leone is all about balance: old-world romance with modern play, refined minimalism with bold detail, heartfelt intimacy with wild, joyful energy. No two weddings are ever the same.We take your story and turn it into a space, a mood, and a party that feels uniquely yours.

Based in Tasmania and travelling worldwide, we collaborate with an incredible network of creatives to bring your vision to life. From candlelit feasts and champagne towers to destination weekends in Italy or intimate elopements on Tasmania’s coastline, every detail is considered.

FAQ

What should couples know before booking you?

That I’m a pretty normal human. I love great design and beautiful details, but I don’t believe weddings need to be intimidating or overly serious. The details matter, sure-but never more than your joy or the experience you’re creating.

I’ll never suggest something because it’s trending or because it’ll make a pretty photo for my portfolio. If I throw an idea your way, it’s because I think it’s unexpected, considered and genuinely feels like you. The best weddings are the ones that couldn’t belong to anyone else.

We’ll probably end up talking about restaurants, food and travel as much as table settings, and I promise to always be honest and transparent with my advice. At the end of the day, my biggest goal as your wedding planner is for your wedding to feel like the two of you.

Do you specialise in a particular wedding style or aesthetic?

I think my style is less about an aesthetic and more about a feeling. I want weddings to feel thoughtful, relaxed, a little unexpected and deeply personal.

I love modern design, but I also love softness. I love restraint, but I equally love a bold, playful surprise or an unexpected detail that catches people off guard in the best way. I probably sit somewhere in the modern space, but never in a way that feels formulaic.Every wedding planning project starts with the people, not the aesthetic.

If there are a few threads that run through my work, they’re originality, understated luxury over unnecessary formality, and creating moments that feel genuinely personal.

What services do you offer for weddings?

The majority of our work is full wedding planning, design and coordination from start to finish. Most of our couples are planning from interstate or overseas, so they really want someone in their corner who knows the landscape and can make the whole process feel a little less overwhelming.

For couples after a lighter touch, we also offer partial wedding planning, design and styling, plus consultations-which I’ve actually loved introducing. The only service we don’t offer is on-the-day coordination by itself. For me, the relationship is the best part.

I like getting to know people, understanding how they want the day to feel and making decisions with intention. It’s probably why we only take on around 15 weddings each season- I much prefer depth over volume.
